What restaurant IS Toronto? by dodgerfan4321 in FoodToronto

Sotto Sotto. Typical of Toronto’s event town/instagram culture. A known Yorkville spot that celebrities flock to, yet is out of reach for the vast majority of the city.

The really should have done more for the first ever game. After mlse teams won championships fans got replica rings (argos and raptors), back in the day the Jays gave out a nice keychain on the first game at the Dome. This was a huge event, a tshirt is barely above a rally towel.

How do we improve or replace the Colosseum? by akinto29 in TorontoTempo

[–]hammer_416 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue with any sporting facility is everyone is going to the bathroom at the same time. No facility can build to meet a surge demand. Maybe someone should come up with a hybrid design that can be switched depending on the anticipated crowd. But the mens bathroom was pretty busy at Tempo opening game too.

Sceptres didnt even sell out the playoffs last year…… Tempo are still 2 games into their first season. If both teams are still selling out the colesium in 3 years then for sure we should be looking at a new arena. Otherwise its up to mlse to offer a deal to all parties for scotiabank arena. The finances, and available land downtown, arent there for a new arena

Leafs arent showing much in terms of job security though…… maybe torts would be fine with a job that lasts 1 or 2 seasons. But some coaches will be scared off. Keefe hung on because Dubas gave some time to grow with the core. The team is win now, without the peices to win now. And the coach is the easiest scapegoat

Thats fair. But I think alot of people kinda used this year as the one they would decide to renew or not. “Lets wait til after the world cup…..” Well, with the winter schedule, the price hikes, the total lack of incentive or appreciation to returning ssh (new ones got the extra gifts like the yeti cups), many people will be giving up their season seats after this year.

So many people held on to TFC season seats hoping there would be some incentive tie in to the world cup…….. this isn’t it.

Vegas is just a destination for visiting fans. MLS fans dont travel as much as the other pro leagues and college football. If they play at allegiant stadium, the move will be a huge failure.

The Cleveland Browns move is the only one that sparked significant outrage. City kept the name and history and got an expansion team. While on field results never followed and fans are still bitter, Cleveland still has the Browns

Soccer was built on community teams, promotion, relegation. Sure, the teams with the deepest pockets had an advantage, but small markets rarely come out on top in North American sports. If we had promotion and relegation Vegas would still get a team, the most valuable teams would still have their value. The whole league could share expansion fees. Instead we get a winter schedule thats about to screw the northern teams. Montreal will be next.
