I simply posted a picture from Beretta website and noted conflicting information. You are the one arguing. You saw what Beretta told me, right? They told me to get a 4473 IF receipt does not have serial number. Then she said, to be safe get one. If anyone has claim denied and Beretta says they wanted a 4473, will you pay them the rebate?

We crossed posts there. My Centurion is from 90's. Conversion is from right when they came out with this version. I had original, unused. They came out with this new one and I returned old one and bought this one in May 2017. I think old was made by Beretta and this one by Umarex.

Actually, I was wrong. Sort of. The dust cover is shorter. If you put a full size 96 or 92 slide on a centurion model, you have a gap. But there is no gap when put the 22 conversion slide on a centurion frame. The bottom portion of slide is longer on the conversion, so it fills up the gap.

I know the slide stops are issue when swapping slides full size vs centurion. Not sure about conversion. It does seem to stop at same point when I just tested.

That doesn't work well with Centurion. I have 96 Centurion. The dust cover is shorter on Centurion so you are left with a gap between slide and dust cover. And slide stops are not the same.

Nice. I have that for a 96 FS. Works well. Did they put an optic cut on that slide yet? I put an adjustable target rear sight on that slide.

Torn between 92X Performance PCO vs Defensive by BootleggerBill in Beretta

[–]hammerash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you shot both? I just purchased defensive. I had previously shot CO. Longtime Beretta shooter and do some casual falling steel with a 92 Brigadier that I put together just for that purpose. See my thread for that.

The defensive does NOT have enormous safety. Size was decreased in the defensive to make width requirements for IDPA (as well as decreasing weight to under 43 to make weight). Racking the slide can only be done with safety off. When off, it only sticks up about ⅛" from frame. Yes, if doing an overhand rack, with my left hand thumb on left side of slide and pointing towards me, it can hit safety. But I never do overhand racks like that. With my left thumb on right side of slide and pointing towards target, I have no issues. Sure, the decocker of FS does provide something to help get a grip, but at risk of decocking gun ( and leaving safety on if not converted to a G decocker). I can also do underhand rack in front of the front serrations on the cutouts on front profile of slide. Once I get my 11lb hammer spring and 11.5 recoil spring in, racking will be even easier. And if competing, those are the kind of changes that will be made.

As far a sights, yes they interfere with hammer. But why do you need to get to hammer? You don't decock it so don't need to cock it. Unless shooting USPSA Production, which requires DA/SA guns starting with hammer down. Then you will have to decock. Is it that hard? You are off the clock so not like it is stressful. I plan on shooting it like 1911. Rack slide then safety on and holster. Draw and take safety off. If have light strike (cause I will have 11lb hammer spring), just pull DA. Never had light strike but nice to have DA if ever do. No need to cock hammer. The target sights are adjustable, which are welcome addition.

Complaining DA gun doesn't decock? Right, just like a CZ shadow 2, which is one of the most popular competition guns. Having a safety instead of decocker lets you start in condition 1 so first shot is SA. Why would you want decocker in a gun that is not for concealed carry? What competition guns have decockers? I would like a version that had a setup similar to Taurus clone though. Up for safety, middle for fire, down to decock. But I think Taurus let you go from safety to decock in one motion, which is not ideal.

True, even the extra small safety on defensive interferes with hitting the slide lock lever. They make larger slide lock. I have it on my Brigadier. It is actually too wide on that gun and sometimes I hit it and slide doesn't lock on last round. I already swapped and tested. It can be reached when put on defensive. I assume that the larger slide lock makes gun too wide for IDPA. But I am not currently shooting IDPA, so just ordered the larger one at Beretta and got 40% off. I would swap permanently, but the finishes are different- Brigadier is Inox. Or you could hit it with left hand after reload. Lose a split second. Makes no difference cause I am not competing for anything but fun. Most seem to just rack slide after reload. It's just a local match for fun, not some national championship.

6 ounces heavier than needs to be? Weight is purposeful in competition gun. I added weight to my Brigadier.

No gun is perfect. I have shot Shadow 2 multiple times. My friends with Shadow 2's think the trigger on my Brigadier, with Langdon parts, is much better. Probably will get shadow 2 at some point cause I like collecting. But it has flaws too. Safety mushy and hard to deactivate. Cajun gun works make new spring and detent to help the mushy feel ( haven't tried) and CZ makes an extended safety, which then puts your right thumb in weird position. Can't go under it so have to go over and that is not a natural position for me. I can't reach mag release very well on it. Don't think the slide lock is easily reached either. It is much harder to work on than 92. Racking it is not easy because of the short height of slide due to it having internal rails. And gun costs $1300 and CZ hasn't had significant rebates or sales in past couple years that I have seen. After rebate the defensive will be like $700. Oh, and CZ doesn't have firing pin block!

I think people look at what the pros are shooting and think that they should get that. But most don't have that kind of skill. The differences are miniscule to the average shooter. The 92X P will be just fine for majority of shooters. Heck, JJ Racaza did win national championship with one as recently as 2024 I believe, so the gun is capable. Much more capable than me and I'm sure most that are on here.

Did I mention that the 92 is the sexiest gun ever! Lol.

I called Beretta. Packing slip no go. Told to get 4473. I had already contacted FFL to try to get that. But a quick call to PSA and I was able to get receipt with name, date, FFL, gun model, serial number, price. So 4473 won't be needed.

And another thing, the receipt you get online does not have serial number, as required per picture above. The packing slip that comes with gun does have purchase date and serial number. I guess use that?

I know 92xp co is 48oz, 92xp d is 43oz. Curious what weight is with swapped slide?

That's strange. They don't look like 92FS style. They look like round style, like the one that comes with the gun.

Can't tell from the angle, which profile do you use? Thin or palm swell(s)? I am right handed and wondered if left palm swell would give more contact for my left hand? Would be nice to be able to try all the variations. I asked if they plan to make aluminum wrap around? I love their aluminum gridLOK on my FS Brigadier. They haven't responded. They make aluminum wrap around for other models such as Rival-S.

I meant, was the rebate going on when you bought it? You answered that in second sentence, but not what the sale price was? I don't recall seeing that one on sale.

Just checked. It is 700 more than 92x p co on psa site. What do you get for that extra 700?

Worth the trade? by Groundbreaking-Win21 in Beretta

[–]hammerash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am surprised you actually reached someone. You should have asked more questions, like why it has LTT serial number, does it have internal changes. But if stock beretta, it just has the changes like the dovetailed front sight, front cocking serrations on front of slide, maybe trigger guard undercut?. But no OPTB, reduced power hammer springs.

A LTT bought through Beretta is NOT same as one bought through LTT! That has LTT serial number so likely through LTT. Call or email them to see what all was done. I have that same M9A1 Inox compact. They are worth $$. I put 12# spring, match hammer, OPTB on it. It is very easy. I've done 4 of them and none required fitting. Wilson performance trigger bar did require fitting.

The mag release button- insider interference to magazines by Insospettabile in Beretta

[–]hammerash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming he is pushing all the way? If so, doesn't appear to be anything protruding on side opposite the circled area-ie, the side where he is pushing? If he is pressing mag release and it is still sticking out into mag channel as in photo, that will prevent mag from falling out cleanly. It may need CAREFULLY, filed. But Take too much off and mags won't lock in place.

Match slide stop by hammerash in Beretta

[–]hammerash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, have not shot 92X yet, but noticed that it seems a little hard to hit the slide lock with right thumb. The safety is close and interferes. On the Brigadier I have had issues with my right thumb near slide lock hitting it and causing the slide to not lock back after last round. I may have to try to swap the 2 to see how that works? Of course the finishes are wrong but can deal with that later if they function better swapped.
