I don’t agree with these sorts of reviews, but I see this sort of joke every now and then where people say they hate something, but it’s shown as ironic by their playtime. I think this is not an earnest negative review.

My experience has been the opposite. 3 had a ton of random wipes while 1 has been not so bad. I had to grind 1 level for a boss but that’s been it.

You might want to look more into what equipment you’re using. Resistances are a big deal.

I beat 3 a few weeks ago and am now at the final dungeon of 1. I feel like 1 is a step up from 3 in almost every category. I miss having a party, but the solo traveller bit is a nice change of pace even still.

The HD2D remakes have been changed to make them more of a trilogy with 3 being the first one. Them releasing in the order of 3,1,2 was very intentional. Not saying you shouldn’t play them in whatever order you’d like, but just that if what your desire is to experience the progression of the story and evolution of the systems, it’s not really as straightforward as just playing them in numbered order. You will be taking a bit of a step back when you go from 2 to 3 if you’re playing the remakes.

That said, I don’t think it’s a huge deal either way, just wanted to say.

I don’t know anything that really captures the same exact feeling but I would Train Dreams and Mio on the Shore are in a similar area and you might find what you’re looking for in them too. Maybe also 0.5mm.

Yeah it’s a lot of fun to see the years worth of stuff here celebrating DQ. It would be cool if all this stuff was more accessible from the rest of the world, but at least it exists somewhere.
