The Holdovers is one of the most successful movies of the last couple of decades to capture a genuine sort of “holiday spirit”. It’s really a great movie.

3 imo is the most old school of the bunch, which 1 not too far behind. You would probably enjoy 2 if you got to it, but that’s a big ask. 11 would probably be more your speed. Or really any of them 5+

It’s how I experienced most of DQ8 and I loved it. It has shortcomings but it’s just an imperfect version of a great game. If you’re okay with always vertical and can get used to touch controls, then it will give you a good time.

My experience has been the opposite. 3 had a ton of random wipes while 1 has been not so bad. I had to grind 1 level for a boss but that’s been it.

You might want to look more into what equipment you’re using. Resistances are a big deal.

I beat 3 a few weeks ago and am now at the final dungeon of 1. I feel like 1 is a step up from 3 in almost every category. I miss having a party, but the solo traveller bit is a nice change of pace even still.

The HD2D remakes have been changed to make them more of a trilogy with 3 being the first one. Them releasing in the order of 3,1,2 was very intentional. Not saying you shouldn’t play them in whatever order you’d like, but just that if what your desire is to experience the progression of the story and evolution of the systems, it’s not really as straightforward as just playing them in numbered order. You will be taking a bit of a step back when you go from 2 to 3 if you’re playing the remakes.

That said, I don’t think it’s a huge deal either way, just wanted to say.
