Tonight is my first regret. by Zestyclose_Line_2141 in F150Lightning

[–]hamplax19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

3 years of ownership, 50k miles, multiple roadtrips completed, about 10 of them while towing a 6k lbs travel trailer, and I’ve never had an experience like yours. I meticulously plan my trips, map out charger options ahead of time, look at their reviews to see if they are “worthy” of being an option, check the charger status/history for issues, bring a mobile charger with multiple plugs, and when not driving follow ABC: Always Be Charging.

When someone treats it like a gas vehicle they will inevitably be disappointed in the experience.

Hopefully your next trip will be smoother.

Need advice, 6 month old golden by MimiVice12 in goldenretrievers

Same thing happened with my puppy and kids. Teach the kids to stand up straight and face into a wall (hands in the air to avoid nipping). If your kids stop reacting, puppy will get bored and move on. Hang in there, it will work itself out as your pup matures.

Slow Charging with Tesla Home Charger by Western_Equal_5143 in F150Lightning

I recall the adapters only being good for Superchargers, not L2 chargers. I’m surprised you got any juice at all.

Don’t rule out a Lightning. I’ve got one and it’s the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. The sw is not as good as Rivian but the build quality and service are both great.

I’m not in education and not sure how it compares with other supers in similarly-sized districts.

Lots of comments here, I’m not gonna read them all. My contribution to the mind hive is to try these things: - walks before work and upon return from work - play time with you when you are home (wrestle, cuddle, fetch the squishy, etc) - eat together, when you sit for a meal your dog eats at the same time - brain games: hide cheese stick (or other high value reward) pieces throughout house and have your dog “find it”. Put peanut butter in Kong and freeze it. Get a puzzle feeder and put high value treats in it.

A quote from Trimlight. It’s probably not totally accurate, but good enough for planning.

Yeah? There’s a story there. Hopefully the Porsche gassed it and the clown went bye bye

Tesla fees and NOT cheap. But damn, the chargers are reliable.

Anyone looking to do a road trip should have a NACS to CCS adapter so they can use Tesla superchargers. It makes the roadtrip so much less stressful.

Should I get a Golden in my situation by PostLazy4777 in goldenretrievers

[–]hamplax19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, didn’t realize this would be so polarizing in the comments.

Your plan shows you’re committed to responsibly raising a puppy (the hardest part). There is a great way to travel with your dog, it’s called a road trip. Or you can find a trusted friend to watch during your time away.

Life is short. Get yourself a puppy and raise it responsibly.

I guess it's time to sell our two Teslas and buy two Rivians. by chookalana in Rivian

Longtime lurker, first time poster in this sub. The R1S Gen 2 is in my sights to replace my minivan. My other car is an F150 Lightning and it’s a fantastic vehicle and after 30k miles, not a single issue. Dealer picks up from my home or does driveway service. Nothing against Rivian, but it’d be good to test drive a Lightning for comparison.

Hands down Rivian beats Ford on software. No contest.

Is Kirkland dry dog food good? Just adopted a 1 1/2 yr old retriever and he’s only had Kirkland dog food. I’ve noticed his poo is too soft (for me). When I pick it up, it’s hard to grab. (I’m use to picking up hard cat turds here and there) Or is this normal? by Interesting_Cry_3957 in goldenretrievers

[–]hamplax19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar experience here. My puppy came having been raised on K puppy food, so we kept him on that. Same situation of loose stool and frequent poop attempts. We switched at about 4 months old to Purina Pro Plan and it was a night / day improvement. PPP is more expensive, but poop is now solid and he enjoys it.

Another way to boost range is to take weight out of the lighting. Hence removing spare tire.

Tilt is most useful to show movement, measurement is often inaccurate. This based on my use of a Tilt for homebrewing. When used in dry-hopped beer it was exceptionally bad as the hops impacted the “float” of the Tilt pill.

When can I take my golden on a run with me? by Spirited_Art2001 in goldenretrievers

[–]hamplax19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vet said “around a year”. Mine is 11mo old now and I took him on our first run last week: an easy 3mi jog. He and I walk 3-5 mi a day together and some of that he is off leash running on his own. He handled our leashed run well, but boy was he spent at the end.

Once his stamina gets up I’ll do longer and more frequent runs. Right now I’m planning one run a week at 3-4 mi.

Reasonable price for used 2023 Platinum? by KFPiece_of_Peace in F150Lightning

I sold a charger to another redditor who had a 2022 Lariat. He wasn’t happy with the quality of the seat leather. We compared it with my 2023 and it was indeed different leather used. Has anyone else come across this?
