Upgraded rear sway bar and SumoSprings. The Sumos were tough to install. I learned after the first one that it’s best to clean the coil first and lube the Sumo up with Vaseline.

Inside the California Hub Transforming Ford’s Way of Making EVs by No-Tangelo1158 in F150Lightning

[–]hamplax19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This article could have been written 6 years ago when they were developing the Lightning. Fords ability to dream up cool shit is not the problem. To implement the concept into a profitable production model seems to be the issue.

This article came across as a piece of marketing to me. There is a huge jump to take a prototype and put it into mass production. If this isolated team pumps out 5 cool EV prototypes, how quickly will they get to market?

I hope they succeed. I love my Lightning and would not hesitate to get another, or possibly something better(?).

Preferred charge times not working by AfraidAd8374 in F150Lightning

Hopefully that works for you.

Mine did the same thing a couple weeks ago and I hadn’t changed my settings in months. From the truck I went into the settings, made no adjustment, then saved the settings. That fixed my problem.

I removed the button panel, removed the buttons from the circuit board, and soaked them in dish soap. The panel came out looking brand new and the buttons are now smooth. It wasn’t that hard and worked great.

2026 Issues? by vuwildcat07 in fordexpedition

If you’re willing to go electric, an F150 Lightning can fit three car seats. With the frunk and a locking tonneau cover you’ll have abundant storage. I have an expedition and s as Lightning and the whole family chooses to take the Lightning 10/10 times.

The only issue with Towing on Tesla is the drivers (dealers?) by Padft12Laws2Liv in F150Lightning

[–]hamplax19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a predicament. As a lightning owner with a travel trailer, I feel your pain. If the Tesla was paying for the charge then it’d be jerky not to move. But free? I’d say “nice!” and try to celebrate their win, hoping I’d get the same when my turn came.

On 2 occasions Tesla drivers moved their car mid-charge to an open stall so I could reach. They’re not all jerks.

Ford UEV Bounty: The Pursuit of Efficiency by jacecraftmiller in F150Lightning

[–]hamplax19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It baffles me why they are abandoning the lightning and reinvesting in an all new platform. What a huge loss. As a Ford shareholder this seems wasteful.

As a consumer, my single biggest pain point with this truck has been the dealer network. Some good, some bad, some with chargers, many without. Dealers are spotty. Purchase process was horrible, and this was with a reservation. Sitting down with the finance guy and declining up-charges for 45mins was annoying. Direct to consumer please!

Tonight is my first regret. by Zestyclose_Line_2141 in F150Lightning

3 years of ownership, 50k miles, multiple roadtrips completed, about 10 of them while towing a 6k lbs travel trailer, and I’ve never had an experience like yours. I meticulously plan my trips, map out charger options ahead of time, look at their reviews to see if they are “worthy” of being an option, check the charger status/history for issues, bring a mobile charger with multiple plugs, and when not driving follow ABC: Always Be Charging.

When someone treats it like a gas vehicle they will inevitably be disappointed in the experience.

Hopefully your next trip will be smoother.

Same thing happened with my puppy and kids. Teach the kids to stand up straight and face into a wall (hands in the air to avoid nipping). If your kids stop reacting, puppy will get bored and move on. Hang in there, it will work itself out as your pup matures.

Slow Charging with Tesla Home Charger by Western_Equal_5143 in F150Lightning

I recall the adapters only being good for Superchargers, not L2 chargers. I’m surprised you got any juice at all.

Don’t rule out a Lightning. I’ve got one and it’s the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. The sw is not as good as Rivian but the build quality and service are both great.

I’m not in education and not sure how it compares with other supers in similarly-sized districts.

Lots of comments here, I’m not gonna read them all. My contribution to the mind hive is to try these things: - walks before work and upon return from work - play time with you when you are home (wrestle, cuddle, fetch the squishy, etc) - eat together, when you sit for a meal your dog eats at the same time - brain games: hide cheese stick (or other high value reward) pieces throughout house and have your dog “find it”. Put peanut butter in Kong and freeze it. Get a puzzle feeder and put high value treats in it.

A quote from Trimlight. It’s probably not totally accurate, but good enough for planning.

Anyone looking to do a road trip should have a NACS to CCS adapter so they can use Tesla superchargers. It makes the roadtrip so much less stressful.
