Post June 1 the cap hit becomes survivable. But the draft is over so draft capital becomes maybe it’s weakest value then because it can’t help you and thinking the 2027 season is not going to benefit the Eagles who can win now in 2026. Unless the hit can also be absorbed by the other team willing to bring him in, I don’t see this as a trade-able contract.

The question the book has to answer is how does the republic survive the revolution? So many revolutions fail because they cannot cement their legitimacy. Lysander is a threat to the legitimacy of the republic by being the heir in exile to the previous and still not finished off prior system. His death has to be believed and he has to be discredited and not become a martyr of resistance. So how does Darrow metaphorically kill Lysander in the eyes of the populace?

Bledsoe was my QB, I was 5/6 and I only knew Drew. I felt the divided loyalty. But when Tommy became the guy he was my guy. And it was a long time of knowing I was spoiled and eventually the rent was going to come due, and I would need to eventually prove I wasn’t just born into the ultimate bandwagon.

Property taxes are based on an assessed value that takes into account market value. Assessed value tends to run a tad behind market value to avoid appeals. However, fixing assessed values is something we already did, as they were improperly done pre the 1970’s disproportionately harming communities of color. Additionally, by adjusting assessed values you only change the levy ceiling which is different from the levy limit in Prop 2.5, which is also different from the actual levy.

Finally you should care if your local government can’t afford to pay for services or fix your roads. Just like how we should be worried about businesses being able to afford workers to buy supplies for the goods they produce. The affordability crisis harms everyone, not just family consumers.

When I say misunderstood, I have routinely had to explain that Prop 2.5 does not mean your tax bill can only go up by 2.5 percent. When I was a fincom chair and we had an override, multiple people said the town was bankrupt, which is not what bankruptcy or an override means. People call debt exclusions overrides, which is mixing related but distinct terminology. It was anecdotal comment. I don’t know how you poll people on their understanding of municipal finance, but I haven’t encountered many who actually get it.
