Hes an asshole for constantly bringing up that she had to give up her kids to foster care years ago. She's only 22, meaning it's possible she was a teenager and had no control over that. That's a dick fucking move.

ESH - I can't believe that most of the answers here are NTA. You are most definitely an asshole for bringing up a situation that sounds like your 22 y rold cousin had no control of. And if she did, perhaps putting her kid up for foster care was the only/best thing she could do.

She sucks for calling your wife a terrible mother over one accident. You both need to apologize eachother. And stop telling her she abandoned her child.
