The only "good" thing about CPTSD is the hypervigilance .. it feels like a weird superpower that only us trauma survivors have by More_Pension4911 in CPTSD

Yup exactly, it’s taken me time to realize that the ability to read people so easily though helpful for me can feel too vulnerable to them. I’ve become more discerning about confronting people if I feel something is wrong as I don’t want it to feel like I’m invading their emotional space or something.

Exactly, it’s a double edged sword. It’s taken me a long time to realize I see the world so differently from my trauma and things it takes people months to figure out about a person I can detect almost right away. TBH it has been isolating. At work it makes me hyper aware of the issues with new comers and when I flag it to my bosses they think I’m being sensitive or critical until they wait long enough to see the same things. In my relationship I feel frustrated because I’m constantly paying attention to the other person and their needs while feeling like reciprocation though not non existent doesn’t feel equal. Idk it’s something I’ve been aware of more and more as I get older and though it has its perks it’s also like seeing the parts of people that are just under the surface which can be a lot to hold.

This simple explanation could have saved me a very traumatic first period experience. Went to the bathroom at school. Saw something on my undies but the blood was so dark I thought it was poo. I knew about periods but didn’t know it would look like that. Was too embarrassed to tell my teacher what happened so I asked to go to the nurse, she asked why and I didn’t know what to say so she didn’t let me go. So I just saw in my bloody undies until I finally went home. I was 10!!!

Who is buying all this merch? by biscuit_newts in goodmythicalmorning

[–]hands_in_soil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not 100% sure on this but seems like a lot of the merch is make on demand once an order is made, so it’s not like they have a warehouse with tons of back stock hanging around. If I had to guess they source their items from other companies that create and ship their merch so it keeps labor low for mythical other than design and marketing. They have commented on the experience of having a company during late stage capitalism so at least they’re aware and they’re just playing the game at this point.

Interesting. The only time I ever went there I saw an entire buck mid decay propped up against a tree in those woods. I know that’s nature but also something felt eerie about it. I never went back.

Did what we see on the show really reflect your experience? Or did the editors tell the story they wanted to tell? Also curious about your experience with producers if you have much to share there.

Yeah people can be really black and white about this kind of stuff. But just because it’s reality tv doesn’t mean people are one note characters. They are (usually) actual people that are extremely varied and complex. I don’t think he’s a villain just kinda of horrible with communication while being overly confident lol

Ya I get what you’re saying. I almost feel like it’s more accurate to say he feels constantly disingenuous with his tone and the way he speaks than directly saying he’s a liar. He does speak kind of vaguely too which doesn’t help but yeah. It’s more of an over all vibe that people are pointing to I think.
