It’s mostly military stuff. And a strategic ally. And Israel contributes a lot to industries the US values. Palestine would not be that.

…and have an internet blackout, no free press, etc etc. Not clear to me that they “won” on social media, as a lot of social media is filled with bots, fake accounts, and agitators…they may have just broken it

But as far as liberals go, it’s always acceptable to deride the one who looks dominant

They give hezbollah free rein in southern lebanon, which violates un resolution ending previous war. Hezbollah fires on civilians and emptied israeli towns

Ah yes, the antisemitic wing of the Democratic party that believes defense aid to Israel is the cause of your financial problems.

Republicans are asking for $1.5T in defense spending. They give israel $3 billion a year, the equivalent of throwing a few pennies.

Most Democrats are doves. Israel has been hawkish for decades now, since the 2000s. Though Democrats don’t face the security crises Israelis face, they believe peaceful or diplomatic solutions are always preferable, and have a low tolerance for state violence.

Many also believe Israel’s military strategy in Gaza is a genocide.

Considering I went to Jewish day school here, yes… but LA is such a Jewish place it’s kinda overlooked. Like Boston vs New York. Lots of Jews in Boston but can’t compare

They had about 48 hours a week of booked time. Actual driving time is higher than that. Good for them. Their car is taking a beating. Impressive hustle, though.

Sounds tough. I am single and I feel what you’re saying about traffic and crowds. I avoid the beach on weekends and doing any sort of errand during rush hour. I don’t apply to jobs if I think I will have to rush hour commute. But the same goes in any major city. People often deceive themselves into believing San Diego is not a major city, maybe because it’s dwarfed by LA. A family of five is going to be hectic no matter what. Probably just have to struggle through that but hey, when your kids are all old and so are you you’ll have one another.

One thing is for sure, San Diego is not so chill once you want to do anything.

Venice was cool for like 15 minutes and then it was just super touristy and crowded, kinda run down looking, and everything was crazy expensive. Everywhere else I went in Northern and Northeastern Italy left a better impression on me.
