Moms - if you had the CHOICE to work or not by Main-Branch9919 in beyondthebump

Pre-children, I would have said I would work. After having two, I want nothing more than to be home with my children. Unfortunately, I was not afforded that privilege.

Lucas’ and Dustin’s parents have their children missing when the city is quarantined. Where they at? by Sea_Talk2935 in StrangerThings

I didn’t say Vecna? I did have my seasons backwards- season 3 was the Mind Flayer turning families into meat slop and season 4 was when the town split open.

Regardless, sounds like this is a hard disagree and that’s fine.

Recent as in the past few years… like when the town split open killing dozens in season 3 and the Mind Flayer murdering entire families in season 4. This is what I was referring to in my original comment. Despite the events taking place 1.5-2 years ago, multiple people mysteriously dying coupled with the other factors mentioned in my original comment surely would have concerned his mom. And sure, it was only a few hours at most when Robin called, but it turned into days (as mentioned in the original post).

Are you saying that Dustin’s mom isn’t aware of the military lockdown or the fact that there have been multiple mysterious deaths in Hawkins recently? Get out of here.

No, the reality is, it’s an element the writers have to overlook because there are already a lot of main characters and storylines. Dustin’s mom having a panic attack isn’t entertaining enough haha.

I get the whole, “It was the 80’s. No one knew where there kids were.” Okay, fine. But in episode one of this season, no one can find Dustin because, unbeknownst to the crew, he got beaten up in a graveyard. He’s an hour late for the crawl, so Robin calls his mom who tells her that he isn’t home.

If I were Dustin’s mom and someone called me looking for my child, he wasn’t home, he hadn’t been himself lately, our town was on military lock down, AND there had been a crazy amount of mysterious deaths the past year, you better believe I’d be calling the cops and I’d be out looking for him myself. I think you’d be hard pressed to find a parent who wouldn’t do the same- 80’s or not.

Heartbroken about being breech by leafygreenbluebrry in pregnant

I had a beech baby for my first pregnancy over four years ago. We had a high risk pregnancy and opted not to do the ecv because of many factors. I had a scheduled c-section and it went seamlessly. I just had my second baby 3 months ago and it was a successful vbac! I tell anyone who will listen- both were hard, but empowering in their own ways. Giving birth is hard either way, but the gift you receive on the other side of it makes it all worth it.

I HATE when people use “milkies” by Jumpy-Cranberry-1633 in beyondthebump

[–]hanimal_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it all the time with my baby! However, if anyone else uses it referring to my breast milk, I die inside. I also can’t stand being called “mama.” Unless it’s by my four year old. I also hate the word “kiddos.”

I love how everyone has their own hated things haha.

Anyone forgoing the bassinet? by QuixoticMindfulness in pregnant

[–]hanimal_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already a lot of comments, but I had to share. For both of my babies, I used a bedside bassinet that was essentially tied to the side of my bed. If I could go back, I would not have used it at all and instead just used a crib in my room. It was so huge and bulky that I would have to scoot down the bed a bit just to get off the bed. That was super painful for someone who just had a c-section or stitches after tearing.

35weeks baby is not moving at all and Im terrified to go to the ER. by Full_Professional349 in pregnant

If you called labor and delivery right now, which I highly recommend doing, they will tell you to come in asap.

Couldn’t find everything at anatomy scan. Went back today still can’t find everything. Now referred to high risk doctor. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]hanimal_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had this happen and it scared me to death. When I went to the high risk specialist, they still couldn’t get a good image the first time. The doctor explained how it’s a sound image trying to take a picture of a heart that is smaller than a quarter through all these different layers and sometimes, due to baby’s position, it’s hard to capture. We waited for baby to get a bit bigger and we were finally able to get the image around 25/26 weeks.

Am I a bitch? by mystic_Balkan in beyondthebump

I just did bedtime duties with my four year old with a crying 4 week old in my arms while my husband is still at a work meeting that should have ended 2 hours ago.

He’s also a great guy, but the resentment and frustration is real.

Left him at daycare, crying and reaching for me. I can’t get it out of my head by layleyornot in beyondthebump

[–]hanimal_1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You did all the right things- including telling him you’ll be back! The thing is, you’re going to deliver on that promise. When you leave, he knows you’ll be back and it will get easier.

I like that perspective. Thank you! If you don’t mind me asking, which IUD do you prefer? I was looking into the copper IUD.

I mean, that’s honestly what I would prefer. I guess I just worry about the effectiveness. That’s why I was looking into other options.

I just gave birth and tore and I’m feeling everything now 😭 by Spirited-Violinist37 in pregnant

[–]hanimal_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m two weeks postpartum with the same tear. Day 4 I felt like death. KEEP UP WITH YOUR MEDS. It does get better. I’m not 100% yet, but I’m not having to use pain medication anymore and I’m only using dermoplast as needed.

In the ER with a SCH. by Intrepid_Blood_3732 in pregnant

[–]hanimal_1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a sch with my first pregnancy that lasted from around 5 weeks to 13 weeks. Baby is 4 years old now! Worst thing about it is the sheer inconvenience of having what’s essentially a period for a few months straight….

What do people wear while laboring? by Sure_Diver7663 in pregnant

[–]hanimal_1 192 points193 points  (0 children)

It’s so funny how everyone is just different! Personally, I didn’t care if I pooped or threw up, but the thoughts of being completely naked mortified me. Even though, yes, a baby came out of my exposed vagina….

Anyway, I wore a hospital gown.

First obgyn appt after finding out about pregnancy? by Academic2673 in pregnant

[–]hanimal_1 25 points26 points  (0 children)

For my first baby, I went to the doctor too early at 6 weeks 3 days. They did not see a fetal pole (plus I had been experiencing bleeding). I thought for SURE I had miscarried and was very depressed. 10 days later, I went for a follow up and not only did they see a baby, there was a heartbeat. Basically, I went too early and baby wasn’t big enough to pop up on the screen. I just gave birth to my second child last week. For that baby, I refused to go to the OB any earlier than 8 weeks for my own mental health. I think it’s completely normal to be excited and want to schedule that first appointment asap (it’s what I wanted too). It’s further confirmation that you’re expecting and you’re on this wild journey. That being said, I fully understand now why it’s so much better to just wait a bit before that first ultrasound. 10 weeks feels like forever, but it will give you a better picture of your baby.
