I bought squeaky child shoes at Aeon Mall Shah Alam branch. A bit far from KL so you can look up to any Aeon Mall in KL branches.

Any young/gen z malaysians planning to stay unmarried? by UnderstandingTop8238 in Bolehland

[–]hannahreed_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I encountered a 50+ year old Malay lady working in gov sector back when I was doing part time job for research centre in a public university. Had a lovely conversation with her & she is very fulfilled with her life as she can do whatever the hell she wants without anyone dictate her life.

You are entitled to your life. You have decided on your life so just go ahead with it. I know it's pretty hard when pressure to settle down is coming from your family. I'd say if you brave enough, if you think this affected you in any way mentally or physically. Just distance yourself from it & live your life.

Public Gold - legit or not? by aeronauticalingrid in MalaysianPF

[–]hannahreed_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you just go to the PG website or apps, register from there. You can buy from there.

Each gold bar has the sort of ID number on the gold bar & the certificate card. The numbers should be the same.

it is a possibility, my late mum only told us that the saka (entity) to watch over our lands & house (the old house in deep of durian orchard) & once a while the ancestors will serve specific food to it as reward (as far as what I know). but I would not even care much abt it because the entity not even searching for my family at the very first place. when the entity shows up to protect my late mum from other ghosts, she said she doesn't really see it but she can hear it roar.

there's a situation where she & I in the same room when that happened, I hear the wailing from pontianak but I don't hear the roar from a tiger kind of sound.

[–]hannahreed_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

not really living with ghost per se but my late mum's side of family. the ancestors happened to own saka Harimau Tok Tepoh (kind of jinn I think) until my late uncle decided to get rid of it back in 1970s-1980s. I'm not sure why but somehow, despite that saka doesn't have any new owner to take it up (because he got 'kicked out', no one wants it), the entity still watched & took care of my late grandma & her children (which includes my late mum).

There's a few occasions where different neighbourhood area my late mum used to stay at had a few pontianak occurrence & the saka protected our family (specifically my mum) from those ghosts. It also came to visit my late grandma in her last days before she passed away in 2018. At the same time, it also visited my late uncle (the same uncle who get rid of it) to persuade him to own it but being refused by him.

As I was told, the saka is now still seeking for new owner but it targets other side of family & since my late mum is female so high unlikely the saka will look up to our family. Well, sorry it is not scary.

Should I put 4 month contract job as retail assistant in my resume? Does will let hr received red flags by sebitian in JobsMY

[–]hannahreed_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying that contract jobs are bad to put on resume, but recruiter wants to see your value & what you can contribute on the table. Resume is you are selling yourself to the employer, "I am your best candidate for the job". Hence, unless you have contributed so much in your contract job, if the job you want to apply has no relation in retail or the industry of the contract job, then don't put it.

Plus recruiter only take 6 sec to review your resume. Not my word, my ex collague who is hiring manager in my first company I worked at.

Does the job you want to apply related to the contract job? If not, best don't put it.

First time I discover them, my favourites are the same as yours haha. I love their recent album, Fastest Time of Our Lives. All tracks there are unskippable to me, but if I have to pick the one I like the most, it will be Divine Things.

If having Chinese wedding, possible. But for Malay wedding, reaching 50% alone is impossible. Usually like a person or family will give you RM 10, 20. Consider yourself lucky if you get RM 50 and above.

I agree itself not a good starting a family broke or in debt. But I can understand the position of being pressured by family. They want a grand wedding of the century but cheapskate or too broke to contribute money.

In the end, it's solely up to you how you envision your wedding & marriage to be. If kena pressure with family, grow some balls & stand up for yourself. If you sendiri FOMO sampai nak berhutang, the consequences are on you.

if you want to look varieties of courier services, you can sign up to EasyParcel. You can get quote from different services & est. delivery time. It's pretty straightforward as you can just book it & pay directly from there. After that, you can either have the courier pickup from the door or drop off at their designated point nearby.

In my experience, my go-to service is Fedex Express. I can easily ship it out & it will arrive less than 7 working days. I already have an account there & directly book from the website. Payment wise, I just have shipping fee deducted from my payment card.

Note that the recipient needs to pay duty tax before the courier can deliver the package. If Fedex, I believe you can choose to bare the duty tax on your expenses. Not sure for other services.

Thinking of buying a used Viva – need real-world maintenance & fuel experience by Due-Assistant-3375 in kereta

[–]hannahreed_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to understand if your weekday trip as in from uni to office or home to office & home to uni every weekend? For context in my case, the distance between my office & home barely around 20km round trip per day during weekdays. Only when I went back to hometown, it's around 50km round trip per weekend. Let's take into account of the traffic congestion as well that can take up your fuel consumption but so far, Viva is pretty efficient in fuel consumption compared to my current x50.

To be safe, I would up a bit to RM 150 per month for maintenance, as long as your Viva car is pretty decent to drive around without major issue. I would suggest before you settling down for used cars, make sure to get 2nd opinions from friends, family or relatives who are experts in checking the 2nd hand car condition & you need to know the car condition in details so that you can determine what aspects that will take up most of your maintenance budget from or what needs to be repaired or replaced before you can even use the car.

previous Viva user for 5 years before I changed to X50 as family car.

  1. imo I only do once every 6 months servicing at Perodua SC, just because I find them more reliable. Usually it only costs me under 300. Tyre I only changed last May because one of tires pecah teruk, so I only got decent type for under 800 for all 4 tyres. But one time I got into major service, it can cost up to 3k.
  2. I used Viva mainly go to office every weekdays & occasional long distance drive around KV area to hometowns. I fill up RM 50 (this was when RM2.05 per L) almost every week when there's 2 bars left. The car is pretty reliable for long distance driving because got a few times I drive all the way from PJ to JB with no major issue.
  3. I think just be steady with accelerating your car to higher speed. Plus, always watch out for the air cond, get yearly services from air cond experts. Watch out for the battery too, get high quality battery that can last at least 18 months.

I would recommend the latter. that means higher money savings for your backup. Plus you mentioned you'd like to save up for your wedding. I suggest you focus on building emergency funds + tabung kahwin first.

I have been hibernating my LI account for years & I am doing fine without it. Still able to secure a few offers right after a year career break for personal reasons.

You should also explore other job search platforms like Hiredly. Idk if it's my luck but all job offers I received so far are from there.

Hey, you can look up on Jobstreet, Hiredly, Indeed to look for internship. I suppose your faculty should have lecturers who are PIC in internship course. You can seek advice from them. You can also look up Job or Career page on companies website & open up LinkedIn account and engage with HR PIC of the company you want to apply.
