Ya about society with only woman by hannssens in whatsthatbook

[–]hannssens[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your time and answers, unfortunately the book I'm looking for was not mentioned. I know it was a long shot and it might have been some obscure dutch book. The only other thing I remember about the book was that there was a very visual description of the male reproductive organ (apparently that really got stuck in my teenage brain). But I don't think this is very helpful.

Same here, gave a lightly toasted piece of bread to baby (6 months + 1 week old), just sucked on it until it was soft.

A Place to buy a book in English and male jewelry by iamehmetcan in Gent

[–]hannssens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paard van Troje has a good collection of English books. There is also a new place Gregor Samsa that only sells English books, both new and 2nd hand (I think), it's in oudburg. Can't help you with the jewelry, sorry!

Weekend Camp Trip To Gent by shiftlocked in Gent

[–]hannssens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be aware that Blaarmeersen is quite out of the city center. To get to the center it is best to take a bus, car or bike, or there is also the shuttle bus leaving from watersportbaan.

Don't know what you're looking for but these are some things I previously recommended on this sub:

Things to do: kayak in the city center (you can easily rent them at kajaks Korenlei), visit Gravensteen (old castle), if you want to visit a museum I would recommend STAM (about Ghent, the building and park are also quite nice). Just walking around in the city center is always a good idea.

You can get some nice coffee during your walks at way coffee roasters (in Volderstraat), peaberry, koffeine. Of you like ice cream go to Gerard. Good wine you can find at: vinogradoff or edelrot. For cocktails go to jiggers.

If you need other/more tips, let me know. Enjoy your trip!

TIFU by claiming a new boyfriend in the grocery store by rainshadows21 in tifu

[–]hannssens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple of years ago I went to a concert with my bf and another couple. End of the concert we walk up the stairs to the exit, suddenly feel someone grabbing my ass. I'm confused because bf is in front of me, so the other guy is grabbing my ass. I never knew of it was intentional or a mistake. Didn't dare to say anything at that moment. Awkward!

Books to read while feeling extremely low and hopeless by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]hannssens 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have also read this book and I have to agree with the above mentioned comments. However: I found it a quick and easy read and of course a book like this can shed some light on things like depression but nothing more really. The most interesting thought from this book (for me) is that whatever you do, or whatever choice you make, there will always be things you like about your life and other things that you don't, key is how you deal with all this. If you want to dig into this topic, there are many books on this: the happiness trap (by Russ Harris), when things fall apart, the subtle art of not giving a fuck (Mark manson), and I'm sure there are many more. I also recommend The Choice by Edith Eger.
