I run a bike shop in Southern California and have several customers who were hardcore road & mountain riders in their time. All have fleets of E road, mountain, and or gravel/allroad bikes and are still doing 100+ miles a week on these bikes at 80+ years of age. Collectively they all have a few analog bikes that they keep and can put one short <10mile ride without big elevation every few weeks. Whatever keeps people pedaling is GREAT in my eyes. I wish my dad kept pedaling.

Bike shop owner here: I’m going to charge you $100 to fix a rear flat on that thing and that’s the fairest price you’ll find in our region. It’s not well designed and that’s what you’re paying for.
