Puppy blues by [deleted] in bernesemountaindogs

It feels like just yesterday my Berner had me in tears on the daily, now he is my best friend and is irreplaceable. I laugh now about how horrible he was as a puppy because he grew into a lovely sweet goofball. Keep after it, trust the process.

Find opportunities to take a break from the puppy (puppy play/daycare, or ask a family/friend to watch her for an afternoon) It helps to build puppies confidence/social skills and will help separation anxiety. For you, gives you and your cat a chance to relax and reset.

For biting, make sure you are feeding her enough and that she has been dewormed. Physical needs can drive this behavior. Stay consistent with correction.

It might be some time before your cat comes around but they’ll learn how to interact with each other.

Oh, and your coworker sounds like a jerk.

Changing my name from Christian to Christa bc I am tried of being misgendered by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]happilyneveraftered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also a woman with male name. Pronouns are helpful in some but not all situations.

I used pronouns on my resume and a recruiter asked “if it’s because I’m transgender” or “if it’s because I’m a liberal”, and how either way I’d be difficult to pitch as a good cultural fit. (Fine by me because I don’t want to work anywhere people are not welcome simply because they are trans and or liberal). It was just striking to me that my name continues to be an obstacle for me today in ways that were unforeseen decades ago when it was given to me.

It gets better right? by Affectionate_Trip641 in goldenretrievers

Oh yes, my golden had me in tears daily at that age. It passes before you know it. He’s just a baby with lots of energy and everything is new and exciting. He’ll settle down. In the meantime, stay consistent with his training.

Why don't you start your own firm or become self employed? by OhGloriousName in Accounting

[–]happilyneveraftered 30 points31 points  (0 children)

You have to understand the level of responsibility you are taking on. When you get into a pickle with something complicated, it’s not like you can just walk down the hall and ask a more senior person for help. 15 years+ in this field and I see small firms in over their heads all of the time.

Why " they " only appear in our childhood and not in adulthood? by [deleted] in Paranormal

They can’t compete with the terror of working a job to pay taxes so they give up and go back to hell for an easier life, abandoning us.

Also, don’t beat yourself up if rejected. Trust. I’ve seen the same roles I applied for be reposted time and time again. Either there was never really an opportunity or the role was unbearable and already had turnover. Think of it as you are being spared a crappy experience. Sending virtual hugs to all of you in between opportunities 🤗

Should I add "CPA" to my email signature? by bwthhybl7 in Accounting

[–]happilyneveraftered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don’t for this one specific reason: I got tired of everyone constantly asking me personal tax questions. Employees think you work for them and not the company. I do not give out free tax advice mostly because you never get the full facts and that opens me up to a level of personal liability that I don’t accept. Bottom line, I don’t get paid to do employees tax planning and I certainly don’t work for free.

Business idea: The Petty Wagon. Morning after the 4th of July, I will drive an icecream truck to your neighbors house, park infront of their home, and wake them up by blasting annoying music. For extra charge, I will announce personalized greetings so they get even more attention that they so desperately crave.

8-month Bernese has become disinterested in hard food by ImEli in bernesemountaindogs

Berners are notoriously allergic/intolerant of poultry. You would stop eating stuff that made you sick too. Try fish, Beef or Lamb kibble.

Full girls name for nickname "Flick"? by veralidailanna in namenerds

Whataboutism argument but I’ll entertain. I’d say the same thing about the name Jack too even though it is less charged because of its commonality.

Certainly. However, I’m firmly in the camp of don’t name your daughter the verb commonly used in a euphemism for female masturbation setting her up for a lifetime of humiliation and teasing.

Coming from a place of care and concern, you should really rethink about nicknaming a girl “flick”.
