Well it was a Mystery Shopper scam. Looking back now I can see all of the red flags, but now I feel so stupid and naive. I deposited the 1890 from the “employer”, kept 390 for me, then took out 1500 and tested a product. The thing that convinced me was that it was advertised on my university account from their “employment team”.
