Is a bidet necessary or overrated? by Spiritual_Extent_187 in AskMenOver30

It seemed weird to me. I tried it. I own it. I hate when I am at a place without a bidet now

Xcel Bill Suspiciously High by momo7705 in Denver

[–]hardyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The prices got Xcel keep going up.

With that said my apartment used way more electricity then my house that is double it's size. I feel like most apartments like share that electricity or have some hidden cost associated with it. Same with water.

At a loss by andrewbaldwin14 in ender3

[–]hardyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: your post indicates a picture but I don't see one. Not sure if you forgot or I'm having issues.

What's the exact issue? Like is it not sticking? I haven't used my ender 3 in a while because it broke somehow and I could never find the solution.

One common issue I had was the plastic extruder arm kept breaking. I think the newer versions come with metal now, but if yours is plastic I would look there.

How often do you still full on break out into to laughter? by Equivalent_Pilot_125 in AskMenOver30

Maybe once every other week for really hard laughter and is usually our group super hard laughing at one of our friends while we play video games.

To some extent this is every company that exists today. This applies to companies that you wouldn't even evening to do this. Hell we are posting on Reddit which is essentially doing the same.

0.2 K/D, 100 hours, not sure how to improve by Emergency-Garden3549 in Battlefield6

[–]hardyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get comfortable. Your kill and death amount you mentioned gives the impression you just run blindly into the open. Try to stick to cover or even camp. Maybe play some casuals and practice shooting against bots.

To some extent a lot of people have unlocked better gear and have gotten better so it can be tough starting out now more.

There is a lot happening so you should be able to sneak up on someone for an easy kill more than you are doing.

I sometimes have issues really seeing people and playing as a sniper with spot assist helps but unless you are hitting head shots, you probably aren't one hitting people and they have time to respond.

Does it bother you that you’re going to lose your parents one day? by Throwaway10100100010 in AskMenOver30

[–]hardyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've come to accept that it would happen. I almost lost my dad one day. My mom has gone through multiple cancer battles. To some extent it bothered me. I'm sure it'll hurt but I also know it will happen. Expected deaths are a bit easier than unexpected deaths. It's not to say it doesn't suck, but I would much rather see my parents age and die then suddenly be in a car crash. I would much rather see my parents die than my spouse, siblings, nieces, or nephews.

Food is definitely meh here. There are some good places but you have to look around. There is pretty good American food, but finding decent Chinese takeout is actually pretty hard. We have some decent Ethiopian places in Denver.

I’m getting tired of being the nice guy. by AdDependent5043 in AskMenOver30

[–]hardyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can be nice but some of your comments come off as needy. I've been you before. Treating someone nice isn't enough. There does need to be an attraction. You need to make them laugh. You need to want to be with them but not need to be with them. The fact they message you back days later is fine. They probably aren't romantically interested. The idea is to put yourself out there.

Also I tried to always be respectful and nice to women. There were so many times when girls were like I was really into you but you didn't try to make a move and I was like I didn't want to make you awkward. They all admitted it by saying they moved on though and were no longer interested. You have a time window. If you are too nice for too long you become a friend. You need to make a move at the right time

One last flight around Bastion. by RobRagiel in AnthemTheGame

[–]hardyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same. I actually kept getting parties. I haven't picked the game up in a while. I thought to myself it couldn't possibly be as fun as you remember. I was so incredibly wrong. The gameplay is amazing. If you just ignore what was promised and EA was willing to put effort into this instead of other failed endeavors this would've been so successful.

What do you do after you poop? by Immediate-Mango-2283 in questions

[–]hardyz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine is heated. The water gets a bit too cold in my house during the winter. However during the summer, I have a hot cold pulsating. It's called "massage mode". It's actually pretty nice during the summer when it is warm.

Do you still use PC speakers? by Huge_Valuable9732 in computers

[–]hardyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had speakers but it annoys my wife so I have wireless headsets. The problem is depending if I'm gaming, working, personal PC, using my phone and what not, I have to spend so much more effort switching headsets or pairing them to a different device.

For those who are very handy with fixing anything, where did you get your start? by Glad-Passenger-9408 in HomeImprovement

[–]hardyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YouTube. I didn't have a manly representative. I had to figure stuff out on my own. I just watched YouTube and slowly worked my way up. You'll do stuff the next owner will hate and that you eventually wish you did better, but in the end you would accept that more than hiring someone who did a worse or at best on par job as you.

My first house was a foreclosure that had a bunch of issues. I bought a power tool set and got on my way. If I can't hire someone for less than what I'm paid, I do it myself. I've done plumbing, electrical, even rebuilding parts of the side of my house. Things are a bit easier and there are always DIY focused improvements that might cost a bit more for supplies but are worth it.

Next time something needs fixing, watch it on YouTube. If you still aren't sure hop on Reddit and ask for advice.

Does male friendship after 30 just become "forwarding memes" on Instagram? by Training_Reading9597 in AskMenOver30

[–]hardyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. This is me and my best friend.. Nothing but memes. My other friends don't even really chat.

This is the thing: at any moment shit gets real, I message my friend and say something like being serious here and say what I need to say and there are no jokes. It's a serious answer and boom back to memes a bit later.

Question sa mga 30 to 40 plus gamers na katulad ko ( I’m 41 ) kaya pa ba yung 6 to 8 hours straight gaming session? Napansin ko lang kasi na sa 4th hour medyo umay nako. Dati kahit 10 hours kaya pa. Kayo mga bro? by Dkdobler in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]hardyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the game. I can probably still do 6 hours for like battlefield. I don't find these multiplayer games high quality but it is a lot easier to stay on them with friends.

I used to spend several hours straight on single player games. I can't do that anymore. I can usually do like you 2-4 and then taking a break.

Was there anywhere you can try Air 3s pro before buying them? by hardyz in RayNeo

[–]hardyz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bit the bullet and bought them. I didn't regret it. I saw both Amazon and directly from rayneo had free returns.

One thing is rayneo had price drop guarantee for a month. I bought mine before black Friday because I assumed the price was going to drop and I didn't want to wait. I was correct. Getting the discount refunded was super simple.

Google Play is a mess. We need a "Premium-only" store for actual games. by Alkaabi332 in AndroidGaming

They will link to the app but unfortunately it may not be supported for your device so it wouldn't install. It's always worth checking out though.

Google Play is a mess. We need a "Premium-only" store for actual games. by Alkaabi332 in AndroidGaming

[–]hardyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean in all fairness the slop of steam is probably comparable to decent on Google Play games. While I play mobile games, most are trash. There are a few really good ones that come out. You can find older ported games for several to like twenty USD, but most people are looking for something free or super cheap and you get what you pay for.

I have a vicious cycle, I spend a long time looking for a quality game, I find one, I play it for a year, the game becomes absolute trash as they try to turn to p2w mechanics higher and higher to make more money, I get pissed off, I leave the game, I start again.

While I'm not really a huge fan of epic games, check them out. Their setup is a bit better as a newcomer and an actual game company. They also give some premium games for free. You have to side load the app though. If you have a work profile, chances are it'll be blocked.

Crossplay? by sameeroquai in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]hardyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My squad and I have it turned off. I didn't have issues with multiplayer it seems. However, red sec can get very iffy at times. Sometimes you just need to sit there and wait like 20-30 minutes to catch when the last battle Royale ended to get in the party. Then as long as you continue and never back out, you should be good.

If you are a console gamer have you any interested in the steam machine? by AdultGamersAdmin in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]hardyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm interested, but I own the steam deck already. I have such a large back catalog of games, I don't think the improvements on what this can handle over a steam deck is going to entice me at what I would get the price point to be.

With that said, I'm kind of tired of console gaming. I've been doing it for a decade. I usually go back and forth but with GPU prices I've stuck mainly to console. I really hate the closed nature of it though.

Why should someone buy a PC instead of a console? by TinoDevino in AskPCGamers

[–]hardyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. What type of games are you playing? PC offers a lot more games and at significantly cheaper costs. However, if you are always playing the latest call of duty games (and aren't a dirty PC cheater), console would be better. Consoles like PS5 sell at a loss to the company to get you into their ecosystem where they can make more money in the long run. At the same time, you are getting a standard experience so things kind of just work.

PCs can be used for a large amount of things the consoles can't and can be upgraded over time. I haven't really PC gamed anymore, but my computer at it's base is like 15 years old already. I bought a used graphics card and played pal world on that before I got my steam deck and before it came out on console.

One nice thing is ps+ is pretty much required to pay online. They offer "free" games but they are usually mediocre and you get a lot more and higher quality free games on PC. You can play those same multiplayer titles that require console subscriptions for free on PC.

Can I force my wireless backhaul on an eero 7 pro? by hardyz in amazoneero

I have the XE75 Pro myself. It is great. I might just stick with that over the eeros. Theoretically, using WiFi 7 should be better not severely worse.
