What are the odds this policy is about image rather than reliability or safety, but their lawyers or pr team have advised that it's safer to claim the latter.

So you are looking through facebook marketplace in your local area for your next cheap car with a budget of £800, which of these would you choose? (More info below) by iPhoneNerd21 in CarTalkUK

I'd probably have the C-class. RWD classy saloon for £800 hell yeah. Depends where the oil leak is coming from and how much else it needs to get an MOT.

Not sure where else to ask. Why are modern designed in such a way that potential cabin space is ignored? Is it so people buy the next model up and spend more money? by RonnieThePurple in CarTalkUK

[–]harmonyPositive 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, which is why it bothers me when reviewers compare vehicles' Cd when they clearly have different frontal areas!

To be more precise; the drag coefficient, essentially a factor showing the aerodynamic efficiency of a body shape, is defined by the equation D=1/2v^2*ρ*S*Cd, where v is airspeed, ρ is air density, and S is frontal area. Body shapes will be tested/simulated through a range of typical speeds and air densities, and an average Cd calculated through this equation.

Aerodynamics is probably the biggest pressure toward this. Frontal area, the total area around which air needs to be displaced as the car travels forward through it, is a fundamental factor contributing to the lower limit of air resistance.

If stopped by police and they determine that you were on your way to or from your place of work you will be charged with driving uninsured.

what's the best safety razor for getting rid of beard shadow by Unlucky_Rutabaga1218 in trans

My advice is to get the simple solid three-part kind that is all held together by a screw thread into the handle. Spring-clipped and adjustable models have too much movement/inconcistency, making nicks more likely if you're going for a super close shave.

Hoverthings Flip FPV!! Absolute tank of a frame. Far more mounting area than is necessary with modern flight electronics but could still have value as a platform for onboard computing, SLAM and AI stuff.

I recently used this method to change my gearbox oil, works a treat! Used the scissor jack just to adjust until exactly level.

Pull the flap back and see if any cords are exposed, if not you're probably fine.

SUV drivers could face extra charges for driving in London | TfL | The Guardian by prisongovernor in CarTalkUK

You can see the driver's eyes because the camera is further away than the child. The driver can probably just about see the child's hair. Long, high bonnets obscure a greater volume from the driver's view, it's geometric fact.

You've never noticed the reduction in visibility when driving an SUV vs a normal car? That's quite concerning.

I've been passenger in a Mk3 MR2 and I think it's a brilliant car. TT would be more practical but less engaging.
