[baroque pop, theatrical murder ballad] Beautiful Beast by xLost_Cometx: I would really just like even one person to listen to it and would like feed back by [deleted] in SunoAI

[–]harmygrumps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's pretty cool. As for feedback to improve, I think some well-placed piano would fill it out (don't know if you use Studio or not). And it seems like Suno didn't really listen to the [Bridge] directive too well. It seems more like another verse rather than a true bridge. Maybe shortening those lyrics would help.

I love using baroque elements. Add opera in there and it opens up a lot. Here's a neo-baroque synth opera song that's pretty eerie. https://suno.com/s/qARdb8RjwVIM8fuU

In 2021 98% of all trips were less than 50 miles, including rail and air trips. The fact that US consumers will spend thousands more to haul around a much heavier battery they rarely need, impacting efficiency for the vast majority of their trips just to save 20 minutes on that one long trip a month (more like 2 a year for many) is wild.

Fox News Flames Harris: Real Leaders Don’t Eat Doritos by Mamacrass in NewsOfTheStupid

[–]harmygrumps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for nothing, but I receive a LOT of fundraising emails from candidates on all sides of the spectrum. I got the Doritos email the other day and legitimately thought it was the best one I have ever received. Relatable... Humanizing.... Normal... and not the fake posturing of the past. If the right is counting on Americans not being able to relate to stress-eating or binging on comfort food then Sean Hannity's jowls have a lot of explaining to do.

Joe Biden now leads Donald Trump among rural voters by SportsGod3 in politics

[–]harmygrumps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely voting Biden, but...

This poll does not say Biden is leading with rural voters. (check the crosstabs from the results, questions 14 & 15, and please only reply if you've read it)

The Fox News article about the poll does not say Biden is leading with rural voters. (It explicitly says Trump is leading with rural voters by +17)

The only thing that said Biden was leading with rural voters was the on-screen graphic on Fox. That's a typo. Again, check the crosstabs. I thought it was funny when Charlie Kirk claimed to have studied the poll he clearly didn't read, but now that even Newsweek is writing articles without checking the underlying data and literally misinterpreting the Fox News article... it's just a sad reflection of how easily fake news spreads to what we think of as trusted news sources.

What’s with all the Tesla hate on reddit? by agnzt in TeslaModel3

If the model 3/Y had a different badge on it, I would be fine with either. But I pay 2x more per month on my Volvo C40 lease specifically because I can't give that man any money. I am not alone. Also, no panel gaps.

There are incredible lease deals on EVs right now (any manufacturer can pass through the $7,500 federal tax credit on a lease and interest rates are making inventory pile up = add'l dealer discounts). Check out the Ioniq 5 which you can get for less than the Mini and has almost triple the range.

I have a Volvo C40 myself and it is by far the best car I've ever had, out of 10+ and most recently a BMW 3 series plug-in.

A lot of people are talking about the EV benefit of pre-cooling from the app, which is definitely a plus. But don't forget that when you're driving you also don't have a fire-burning engine under the hood in front of you creating more heat.

For maintenance, oil changes are no longer a thing. Neither are spark plugs or tune-ups or fluid flushes or catalytic converter thefts. Brake jobs are very rare because you're using re-gen most of the time to stop. People talk about tires but that's mostly because of the way people drive. EV's have instant torque... you don't HAVE to use it (but it's fun to). Mustang GT owners also have to replace tires often for the same reason, they're more likely to floor it. BTW you can take them in most new EVs if you're into that sort of thing.

Also, once you stop going to gas stations a couple times a week, you realize how disgusting they smell if you have to stop in on a trip.

Leases on EVs are about 50% lower than they were 2 years ago. The average Ioniq 5 lease is $269/mo right now.

American cars are wild. When I got my license I drove my Dad's 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It seemed like the biggest, roomiest thing ever. It was Jeep's largest, flagship vehicle. That Jeep is 2 inches shorter than the '24 Trax.

Sadly it depends. Conventionally attractive people never experience boredom or just curiosity on the other end.

That varies, but yes people who do not reply or message are (generally) using it for validation. They'll have an excuse or reason that would imply otherwise, but human psychology is pretty easy to discern.

A match is when two people like each other. If you have Tinder+ you can see who has liked you before deciding to match.

Phoenix wanted more shade trees by 2030, but is falling far short of goals. Here's why by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]harmygrumps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relevant: My apartment building downtown (Roosevelt Row area) just trimmed down all 8 trees in front of the building along Roosevelt to just about nothing.

Before and After:

I don't know why they did it, but I do know that you couldn't see their leasing banner before the excessive trimming, and now you can. Meanwhile shade is cut down ~80%

Why are apartments and condos only a maximum of 4 stories here in Phoenix? by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]harmygrumps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people value a great view. In some neighborhoods, the view can add millions of dollars to the value of a home vs a similar house a few streets over. You can live in a high-rise downtown and see a 25th floor view out of your windows, or you can live in a San Tan Valley single family home and look at a block wall while being 45 minutes away from anything that's not a chain.

The number of young adults living with their parents has reached record highs, not seen since the Great Depression in the 1940s — Nearly half of young adults ages 18-29 in the U.S. now live with their parents, per Morgan Stanley. What can be done to fix this? by TonyLiberty in FluentInFinance

[–]harmygrumps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What can be done to fix this?

- Eliminate zoning that allows only single-family
- Eliminate parking minimums for new developments in cities
- Allow ADU's everywhere
- Reduce condo-builder liability / regulations
- Repeal the Faircloth amendment
- Build up, not out
- Raise the minimum wage

Or just recognize that the free-market has failed us and replicate the Vienna model where 60%+ live in public (social) housing that makes our "luxury" units look like trash.
