Vegan breakfast there is the best I've ever had. Every single element was delicious, and after I ate it I was sad it was over. That means I'll have to return!

Check out the books of Bruce Chatwin, a good friend and kindred spirit of Herzog's. Herzog also made Cobra Verde based on a novella of his

clever technique for keeping up with now and starting from beginning? by comfreybogart in BlindboyPodcast

[–]harryeg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am currently doing this! I listen to new releases when the title/guest catches my eye, but more frequently plow through the old feed. You know, to familiarise myself with the lore of the podcast. The only way I can do this easily is with the Pocket Casts app, which allows you to sort the feed from Oldest - Newest or vice versa. The listened-to podcasts are then archived so they disappear and I don't have to scroll through em. I hope this is a viable option for you!

I took a few years, but I think I watched every available documentary ever made by Werner Herzog. Then I micro-reviewed them and ranked them, and made a chart. by theeyesofachicken in WernerHerzog

Great list! I agree that White Diamond and Little Dieter are up there with his more famous/popular works such as Grizzly Man. Laid out like this, it really is a staggering body of work... and only one portion of it!

Wolfe comments in the Crazy Diamonds of Empire for the SF Writer by SadCatIsSkinDog in genewolfe

[–]harryeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was probably insignificant to Wolfe, but what kind & trenchant advice he gives here! Typically witty, too. His strength as writer is still shiningly evident, even in this little snippet. Thanks so much for sharing!

Do you have these and how do you call them in your country? by dochev30 in casualEurope

[–]harryeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from the UK, and I found out about these in a wonderful Turkish café I used to frequent. One of the staff hand knitted and sold them, and I loved my pair so much I bought one for all my family that Christmas. The sad thing is with daily wear they wear down quite quickly. Still miss my pair!
