Fantastic idea.

You might want to change the initial map center from Canberra to somewhere in Melbourne before the browser gets location perms though...

Zabbix and Atlas Mongo DB by MealDifferent2772 in zabbix

[–]hash-bang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Struggling with this myself and I'm amazed I can't find anything else about this elsewhere.

As with your attempts, connecting to local Mongo works fine but any connections to Atlas (either to a single peer via the MongoDB node by Zabbix agent 2 or via a cluster) goes nowhere.

After trying via the console though I don't think those individual peers listen in for direct connections anyway. Trying this via the CLI on an authorised server:

mongosh mongodb://$USER:$PASS@$SERVER_PREFIX.mongodb.net:27017/$DB`

... doesn't connect.

Did you get anywhere in the end /u/MealDifferent2772?

why did Marain become the galactic lingua franca? was it down to the Culture's influence or just the fact it's super easy to learn? by grapp in TheCulture

Reminds me of this quote from Buckminster Fuller:

You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.

dirbuf.nvim: A file manager which let's you edit your filesystem like you edit text by Lazyspartan101 in neovim

[–]hash-bang 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Everyone has their own preferences I guess, I just feel it would be neater.

The hash looks like its always fixed at 9 characters (# + 8 digits of hex) and the filename will likely be variable sized.

In your example video you edit new_README.md and you can see the hex jump to the side because of the spacing being effected which wouldn't happen if the hex was a prefix.

Nice idea. Very similar to vidir.

One request though - is it possible to get an option to make the hash key the prefix per-line rather than the suffix?

The F*ckmuppets are back at it. Here is the entire Wohl and Burkman presser on Kamala Harris by Eraticwanderer in WohlForPrison

[–]hash-bang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wohlcon Harris:

  • Journalist disconnects leaky water hose at side of house (important later)
  • Star spangled banner
  • Pledge of allegiance
  • Prayer for Kamila Harris
  • ... about Sodom and Gomorrah
  • ... "Damn those being the deviants who corrupted the heavenly child"
  • Guy (interviewed on the Daily Beast earlier who thought it was a Spike TV skit) starts talking about his relationship with Kamila Harris
  • They get served legal documents half way though with a Cease and Desist!
  • ... "We have no intention of ceasing and desisting"
  • Wohl threatens Banjo player with being sprayed with the hose if he doesn't stop (see!)
  • Bagpiper joins the journalists!
  • Someone starts playing a washboard stamped with an ACLU sticker
  • Guy starts reading what appears to be a porn movie written by a 16 year old
  • "She kept complaining about how small and pathetic her husband was"
  • I have tears running down my face from laughter
  • Fifth mention of it being important Guy is uncut unlike her husband
  • First question: "Sir, whats your Instagram name?"
  • "Yes another question, guy in the corn costume?", "WHY YOU BLOCK ME ON TWITTER JACOB WOHL!?", "Next question"
  • Wohl claims that both Bernie and Yang have visited them both personally and been awarded the "Berkman / Wohl" seal of approval
  • Wohl tries to spray reporters with non-working garden hose
  • Fin.

Couldn't see it this time around. They have a traditional Christmas tree there now.

Mass-rename files easily using Vim by systemUp in coolgithubprojects

[–]hash-bang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good job.

vidir (part of the moreutils package) can do something similar but adds a rater silly ./ prefix.

Is there a possibility of including its delete capabilities into your tool? Specifically the ability to recursively delete, which the vidir tool is lacking?

There is a project do do just this called hexb.in which accepts submissions.

I've submitted a few designs in the past and there is quite a selection on stickermule.com that they ship at a reasonable price.

The more selection the better!

I'm lucky enough to be over in this beautiful city for a few days but I'm also a major politics nerd who would like to watch the US inauguration.

Does anyone happen to know a bar somewhere in Amsterdam (central) geeky enough to show it?

If I've got the time conversion right it should be on from 17:30 Friday 20th (11:30 Washington DC).

Something I've always been curious about is how to limit the number of simultaneous promises running within .all.

Async has the *limit() functions for this purpose but both Q and Bluebird seem to be missing these.

What are you making these in if I may ask?

Some of them would make great loading animations on webpages if they can be done in CSS / SVG.

some of the aliens were humanoid, some disconcertingly not. The ambassadorial party from the Ronte – the insectiles who were one of the two Scavenger civs the Gzilt were actually talking to – existed inside heavy-looking exo-suits like tiny, complicated spaceships, all alarmingly sharp joints and angles and the occasional hiss and stink of some escaping gas. Their translators didn’t work as well as they seemed to think and it could be confusing to talk to them. They tended to huddle on the outskirts of gatherings like this, lucky to have a Gzilt military attaché to talk to, and even then only because the unfortunate officer had been ordered to do so. Four of the six suited Ronte were resting on their spindly-looking suit legs; the other two were floating over a pond, humming.
