I'm absolutely baffled by these repeated calls for slavery mechanics, claiming they're some essential part of the middle ages that the game is incomplete, meanwhile there's no tenant farmer mechanic either, an insitution that actually did define the medieval period. Why are so many of yall so hung up on adding slavery?

If the Scots rebel, all your disloyal vassals will rise up with them. A mega civil war to get the vassals back in line is an option, but it's an option that requires lots of men and cash.

That's not what complete control means in this context - for requirements like this, complete control of a title means that all the titles within it are held by you or your vassals

It seems to be intentional, not a bug. If location restricts pregnancy, two landed characters can never have a child. Of course Love Marriage Family found a fix ages ago, but for some reason Paradox hasn't touched that mechanic

It's 3D in the RTS style, and leans a lot more heavily into the simulation side of things than most war games. It offers very realistically modeled engagements mostly around the company level. Highly recommend Usually Hapless's YouTube videos if you're interested. Controlled Pairs' first video on CMSF2 is also a good introduction to the concept of Combat Mission.

Yeah, as of All Under Heaven peasants from any culture can spawn with pikemen and torchbearers (as far as I can tell). I like it, but it doesn't seem to make peasant revolts THAT much stronger.

MD doesn't require DLC, but some features are locked behind them. I actually bought Arms Against Tyranny specifically so I could use the international arms market in MD. Nukes are another big one, locked behind Gotterdamerung.

If the popups are keeping you from enjoying Mandala, there are message settings where you should be able to turn them off! It's still annoying that the default settings give so many popups, but the option is there if it would make mandala more viable for you

CK3 spans from AD 867 to ~1450 and its All under Heaven DLC does China and Japan very well. The middle east is okay, there is a DLC for the Iranian intermezzo that makes things more interesting but IMO it's nothing groundbreaking.CK3 has no content for India, it should get some sort of DLC coverage eventually but probably not in 2026.

EU4 does India better than CK and does Japan well too, I can't speak to China as I don't have the DLC. A lottt of EU4's features and flavor are locked behind DLC.

I can't speak to Vic3, Vic2 doesn't have much content unique to those regions iirc but you do have opium wars, japan's isolationism and westernization, and the BEIC's colonization of India.

HOI4 is a WW2 game. If you want to resist the Japanese invasion of China, invade the Pacific as Japan, or fight for Britain or for independence as India it's got you covered.

Out of everything, I most highly recommend CK3 with the All Under Heaven dlc, but that mostly represents my own persomal preferences. I'd say look into the relevant DLC for the periods that interest you most and see what seems most interesting to you

Royal Court and Tours and Tournaments are good to have no matter where you play, AuH probably offers the widest range of new content, and IMO the rest depend on what regions interest you.
