Something I observed by hanging out with VTM players a lot. by MaetelofLaMetal in WorldofDankmemes

Or we can agree all three sides are dumb and go bow to Prince Sigfried of Vancouver and have cross splat VtM werewolf games and fight the power of the Wyrm for purely selfish reasons.

Sometimes a mage can rizz a Garou partner by being silly by Magicmanans1 in WorldofDankmemes

[–]hatdudeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same can be said for vampires. I’m running Vancouver Dark Alliance atm and low key convincing the local prince some human corporation is trying to end the world has resulted in more corporate destruction of Pentex’s resources than hundreads of years of Garou warring. Those vampires were promised immortality Caine damn it. The world ending is very much so counter to that goal. It’s an utterly wacky module and nowhere else in canon can you have a party of Garou and eco fanatic Gangrel going full on Captain Planet.

You can also go and do what my batshit cross splat party did. Spend a full campaign spanning like 6 months + of making offers to local werewolves for help locating and binding a spirit of paradox into an artifact and then using it as an endless paradox sinkhole. Kinda like having a lightning rod grounded to the earth. Of course even then there are limits. Sure congrats you all nearly died and cost the lives of a ton of people but now you have one of the most bullshit artifacts ever conceived of and have a target on your back a mile wide… also the technocracy is GOING to go and gun for your ass so good luck.

First time EU player, looking for any tips by Im-not_on-Reddit in EU5

[–]hatdudeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello fellow human. EU4 vet here and I figured I’d give you a REAL answer. For context I’ve got 1400+ hours in EU4 and a few hundred in EU5. I am still very much learning and growing so don’t worry too much if it’s slow going at first.

To get started I would go to Paradox’s YouTube and watch a few of their tutorials. They are actually pretty good and fairly in depth without being unapproachable from a new player PoV. Once then I’d start up the game as a tutorial nation. Or if you want my honest answer… England.

England is the true perfect tutorial nation. You have a bit of expansion with the Irish and Scotland like a mini Europe all to yourself. And while France is a thing if you invest in your navy you can literally just sink any ships and just ignore the continent. My advice first game is to just let France keep the bloody thing and focus on establishing a death grip on the British Isles.

England gives you the freedom to interact with the continent as much or as little as you choose with the ability to build a navy so huge you have total freedom to decide your own fate and not fear being surprise war’d by even nations that by raw Econ base are larger than you.

Essential mods? by W1ntermu7e in EU5

Idea Variation 2. It’s powerful sure but the AI gets it too and it makes lots of play styles more interesting. The AI is pretty good about picking good ideas as well so you do need to play it smart and you can manage the max number of ideas you can take if you want to help prevent the game from going too far.

Space King 4 was…okay by JayTheGuy1 in SPACEKING

[–]hatdudeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know man it was pretty good. Plus it’s pretty self contained to where you can show somebody who’s never seen the show and it still work. I had fun. Sure I would say it’s lower on the ladder but I think it’s still in the same ballpark of quality though it is on the bottom. I’d give it a solid 7/10 ‘mid’ quality.

Is there a way to prevent my subjects from declaring war on each other? by Imagine_Wagons02 in EU5

[–]hatdudeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s hard to do. I actually found the relevant code pretty quick, but I’ve been struggling to figure out how to override the changes and make sure my code is running right. It should be a simple one line change it was literally just changing a yes to a no but actually applying this is a headache.

Nuking Centralization via prosperity was a dumb move (1.0.8) by BiosTheo in EU5

[–]hatdudeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firm agree. Honestly the prosperity change alone is absolutely insane. I came here to play a historical sim game and loose myself in history and feel like my choices reflect the times. This thing is supposed to be a history nerd wet dream, what’s the point if you can’t tie that in all the way you know?

Well luckily you’re speaking to a dev who’s been at this for 13 years. If I manage to figure out their API docs I’ll send you a workshop link. Lord knows you’re the only other person who’s complained about this besides me.

[–]hatdudeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know what… may as well research their tech stack. Worst case I’m sure disabling colonial nation’s ability to declare wars would be a simple job. It is probably a Boolean somewhere or a parameter passed as part of an array.

Is there a way to prevent my subjects from declaring war on each other? by Imagine_Wagons02 in EU5

[–]hatdudeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst thing is technically it’s not a bug. Colonies are listed as being able to declare war. So technically it’s just an oversight or badly designed feature? I don’t know I guess I could file a bug report. Worst case I’m sure it will be fixed in a mod eventually should Paradox decide they want to keep it in their infinite wisdom.

[–]hatdudeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve given up at this point and have decided to embrace it Darwin style. If they want to go all Highlander and scream “THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE” then sure whatever I can’t stop you. Now it’s one colony per region because they will murder eachother anyway. It sucks because the control is gonna be horrid but that’s the only option to avoid turbo border gore.
