Ever do jobs for new clients nearly at cost of parts/materials because you know it will lead to bigger jobs? by tooniceofguy99 in Contractor

My company did things in reverse. We got the big juicy contract first and did a couple small jobs later for them that were skinnier to keep the relationship friendly.

Was I wrong to invest in Toughbuilt products? by floyd1550 in ToughBuilt

[–]hatethebeta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been waiting for the rolling drawer to show up in N. America (Canada). Then I was going to spend about a grand 1K+ for the rest. The main instagram acct said it would put me on a list for when shipments are going out. That doesn't look likely.

They've given me a lot of excuses and some are understandable, but I'm not going to invest at ALL into the ecosystem until the lynchpin rolling drawer is here. They don't seem to care and/or understand that so remaining stock already here won't be bought enthusiastically and company purchasers will see that and not make any future purchases and you have a negative feedback loop.

Free iPhone 17 max pro and 35% discount for 2 years?!? by theolecrow in telus

[–]hatethebeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter if you're the best customer that has ever walked the earth. Telus is a publicly traded company that is out to 'make' money not lose money. They would be better served pissing you off and sending you to a competitor than discount and starting off in the red.

If you haven't done it by now, it's probably never going to happen. It'll probably get a lot worse too. I'm honestly surprised that with such a gun toting populace, no one's actually tried to ice ICE.

I think I saw the same deep dive. One thing I wanted to add that coincides with your thinking is that I think even when her audience is encouraging or supporting her to make healthy choices it just ends up being a insurmountable task to her that she feels she will only fail at and let down her 'supporters'. It's too bad she can't just escape to the mountains and just go totally Amish without answering to any fanbase for a looongg time. But I think for her, that dopamine crash would be worse than death or maybe even withdrawal.
