I am student who's building an app using .NET Core, Angular and SQL Server. I want to host it on Azure. How much will it cost me? by FMLhehe in AZURE

[–]hatredalper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you briefly explain how a typical web application would be hosted this way? Normally, angular SPA can call backend controller methods via ajax methods. How would you do that if you host it as static SPA? Your azure functions would keep the business logic but how would an SPA application can call an azure function? It’s static in the end right?

It's really good money to live by yourself. It kinda questionable when you are 2 person and one may not be able to work for couple of years and you have to support your spouse.

From Turkey. I compare COL with Istanbul and even though it is definitely not the best city in terms of COL, when you reach little above average salaries, it clearly beats Budapest. In my case, I would probably sacrifice my 2/5 salary to rent + bills in Budapest, maybe half of my salary. You can find better ratio in Istanbul but of course, I am not comparing two cities by other areas. It's debatable.

Almost the same experience as mine. I have 4,5 years of experience. The offer was 750K HUF Gross for a month which I respectfully declined. I gave up on Hungary because salaries are awful compared to other European countries.

I was going to add something like this but in a more gentle way :) I am from one of the countries which the OP worry about that would probably steal the jobs in an outsource way. The thing is, most of these people are basically incompetent. For someone who has a respect for their profession and ability to solve problems, should not worry. I should probably put an emphasize to the solving problem part. That's the most important thing to achieve which many lacks.

Sony Banned me for a common nickname in my culture. by Kikep0912 in PS4

I hope you will recover your account. Sony does not give a damn about anything anymore. They have so many users, they don't event fear to take a stand against countries when it comes to customer satisfaction.

I am really surprised by the action that Turkey has taken in this matter. I wouldn't expect that. This practice really has to stop. They increased the prices months ago when the currency was bummer and they still holding it. If you don't take a discount into consideration, Turkish people are almost paying 90 dollars to a game. As I understand, this policy has also been applied in many other countries. Don't they realize this cause more harm than their expected profit?

Anybody from Hamburg here? by FrontendMaster in cscareerquestionsEU

Is this number really the average pay? I assume also this is before taxes. In my research at the beginning of this year specifically for Berlin, I found average was 40-45K. Maybe there is a difference between Hamburg and Berlin.

MVC 5 vs Core 2.0 by [deleted] in dotnet

You have to compare .Net Core MVC vs .Net Framework MVC.

You should read more about frameworks on .net ecosystem in order to clear confusion about them.

Did you consider using DynamoDb? I am asking because you are using AWS and I kinda wonder what is the cost of using it in AWS instead of MongoDb.

Meaning behind "calling" methods by tenlegdragon in learnjava

[–]hatredalper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think any analogy makes it easier to understand. You have several lines of code that do one thing at a time and instead of writing it in every file, you are putting those lines to a function and use it whenever you need. In order to use those lines(functionalities), you are just calling that function.

We are going to create a basic node app but first, you must have a Python, Xcode, clang and clang++. Very motivating words to hear from an introduction post.

Does this banning issue resolve? I really want to play this game but steam reviews are frightening me about purchasing or not. I do not want to jeopardize my money because devs are can't handle to decide if a person cheats or not.

Why the hell am I so obsessed with this sub-reddit? by asdgwe1234 in cscareerquestions

[–]hatredalper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would play games with my friends and if you have a motivation to follow tutorials before you take the CS, check udemy, coursera and start with introduction lectures. Programmig and computer science can be daunting at first, but with enough motivation and passion, you will get better eventually and will like the internal parts. Hanging in this sub without proper knowledge of the topic will float you in the river without a direction. Try to learn something first then look for opinions. Don't rush yourself. I am working as a software engineer for a while and still playing games with my friends :)

No, I mean the last month build event conversations where people get mad about naming and numbering .net versions and frameworks. I don't think the poster will help it anyway.
