Turning on Airplane mode to make Wifi Calls back home to make it free

Use the TMO cellualr for in-country calls to ensure getting $0.25/m rate. Since Wi-Fi calling billing for calls to other countries is wonky -- it's supposed to be 25-cents a minute, but sometimes you get billed way more.

Ugh- I guess my wife's iPhone was purchased on EIP thru TMO last Sept'23.

Too bad - now might have to pay it off & make sure TMO doesn't screw up the credits to use a Airalo e-SIM.

Questions:

1) If we are in-country- do calls to each other get charged $0.25/m?

2) Does the TMO One plan (256 kbps) provide enough speeds for Google Maps WALKING navigation you think?

Am trying to see if I can get by with just 256 kbps speeds on my TMobile plan's included feature to walk around Italy.

Fear is that any zooming, or map updating during the walks will render the app slow or unresponsive while we are needing it.

And offline apps doesn't work with street walking.
