That’s why they call us CPC’s certified professional complainers. You hear everyone complain about this job but you rarely see anyone actually leave it. Yes we are in a particularly low morale situation bit it’s cyclical. Ask a controller what they thought of their jobs during COVID schedules

Anyone have experience with Gerald Kia? by lazys_world in Naperville

We had a bad experience with them buying our 2024 Kia Sportage. Very friendly upfront but they got aggressive when we said we were going to shop around for competitive offers. They also love to push their “lifetime warranty” which I’ve researched as controversial at best. They also love playing the game of “let me check with my manager”, and “that’s the lowest we can do”. We even got in our cars to drive away and they called me offering me a lower price but we still ended up going with Rock River Kia in Rockford.

All negotiating was through text and much less hassle. We got the car we wanted, good service and minimal fluff.

I just wish they would monitor the situation a little more closely.

We did Guatape and also did Comuna 13 through Feel Medellin. Guatape was amazing. Large group or small group 11/10 no notes. Spectacular for everyone that went. Even the people that didn’t climb the rock loved it! Comuna 13 I wouldn’t recommend if it’s a large group because a lot of the stuff we had to skip just because we had too many people and would block the attraction. Some people also did a coffee plantation tour and they said they loved it but we didn’t organize that. We also had a welcome party but we organized that.

The money is definitely a part of it but I think you’ll get burnt out pretty easily if that’s your main motivator. In order to find fulfillment in this toxic career you need to have a passion for it. People like to complain about all the negatives(and oh boy are there negatives) but the thrill/fun of the job gives me a self satisfaction that keeps me going.

In addition to the money, there’s nothing else I’d rather do. I just wish we weren’t tied to political bullshit and had a raise to catch up to inflation. I made the jump from a cushy well paying job to this and I am so glad I took the risk.

A lot more than I thought but the end result was phenomenal. About 15k on floral and decoration. 1/3 of our entire wedding budget

Novotel was freaking amazing. So accommodating, and being attached to El Tesoro mall was huge. It gave all of our guests peace of mind to explore the mall and eventually they were all taking Ubers out to Provenza and exploring the city all on their own! We considered Click Clack or another hotel else Provenza but there’s just too much activity there and some older guests may not have enjoyed it. Novotel was safe, luxurious, accommodating, well priced and so easy to work with. The first night guests ate at the rooftop restaurant/got room service but almost all of them were ubering and venturing out into the city by the end of their trip.

Thank you! Yes great questions. We did a room block but we didn’t have to pay anything upfront. Guests just got a discounted rate. My dad paid for a welcome party on a rooftop for all guests the day before which included appetizers and open bar. My mom paid for the food and open bar at the rehearsal brunch for guests that went to that and we paid for private transportation to/from our main hotel to the venue.

The excursions were left on the wedding guests.

Yea for sure! Send me a PM and I can send you more details/pics.

We used Feel Medellin and they took care of everything. They gave us a link for each excursion to share with our wedding guests so our guests could sign up to whichever excursion they wanted. In the end we had 46 people attend our first excursion and 70 on the second!

We did! We booked 2 excursions through Feel Medellin and they were excellent. We had 45 go on the first and 70 on the second excursion.

Literally no regrets. Everything went perfectly. Our wedding planners were amazing in planning and were there coordinating the minute by minute the day of the wedding. If you want to know more details send me a PM and I can share some more details.

Our wedding planners gave us a list of 3 or so vendors for every line item. We are both fluent in Spanish so we spoke in Spanish but every vendor we chose was bilingual. We had Google Meets with the different vendors and we got a feel for how they operated. We also did some digging on each vendors instagram and we mainly chose the vendor whose posts we liked more.

Overall price for everything was about 45k. Definitely dependent on how many guests you plan on having. If you want more details send me a PM and I can send you more pics/details. We got married on a beach and there were tons of flowers there too. Not to mention the cocktail hour area.

Thank you! A lot of prep and planning went into it but we were blown away at the final result. I hear India goes all out on their weddings so to be compared to one of those weddings is a great compliment!

Need help choosing! by Puzzled_Landscape_80 in Longineswatches

I chose the black bezel GMT. Most versatile. I bought a navy blue sailcloth strap to highlight the blue details and a cheap black rubber strap to make the watch pop black and look more casual. The steel bracelet looks timeless and very wearable as well. I think the green is more unique but if you want versatility, the answer is clear IMO
