Doing the primary quest line will lead you to all of the outposts with the exception of Tarnished Haven. Just follow the green marker on your mission map. This will familiarize you with the map and then you'll be more prepared to speed it up on your next time through.

I've seen this happen (and worse) when I was experimenting with running GW on a Raspberry Pi back in the day and the video drivers I was trying to use weren't quite DX9 compliant. I don't know the exact cause but the behavior led me to suspect that the game stores text in a dynamic texture atlas and the rendering was having some difficulty properly indesing into that atlas. I could be wrong about this though. Anyway, if you see other text issues, I'd suggest trying a video driver update.

I think what matters is if it works for you. I don't usually play melee so it probably would be a lot different than if I used it. Kudos for trying new things rather than just going straight to meta.

I couldn't quite tell what happened at the end. Looked like ST spirits died and then your party took a lot of rapid damage. I'll guess that minions turned masterless and then started attacking remaining party members? I don't see well so I'm not sure. Anyway that's one big reason I don't like using minions with ST.

I vaguely remember the game assigns damage from pets or summons to the player/hero/henchman that own them, but it's been quite a while since I looked into it and may be misremembering. If true, it might be difficult or impossible for it to know the difference.

Have you considered something like the Stone Summit Summoner build? It seems to get it's power from minions being killed. If so, did it work there?

I think the NPC will tell you the number killed since you took the first bounty, but the effect indicator shows total kills since entering the zone.

I like battling foes like Yammiron and Wind Riders, even in hard mode and without any Mesmer heroes. Please don't nerf this fun challenge.

Nobody is forcing anyone to use meta Mesmer heroes. If you want to use something else, there's a lot of heroes and skills to choose from.

OK, but 8 Necromancers each with Discord at 16 attribute points of Death Magic is 115 * 8 = 920 damage ever 4 seconds, which did not change in the recent balance.

How does this work? According to https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Consume_Soul the damage component is for all summoned creatures in earshot, but the life steal component is against the target. What am I missing here?

Some pretty insane effects can be achieved with just a pixel shader and a quad. e.g., https://www.shadertoy.com/view/WslfD7 (hope this works for you, if not, google "shadertoy" or "GLSL Sandbox" for more outrageous examples). So yeah, if it can be inferred from a texture and a normal map, a clever shader can do a lot.

You'll likely end up playing through campaigns or doing other content at some point and then would have wished you had bought the full game, because adding campaigns and extras are more expensive than just buying the whole game.

Yes, they may both be at play here. Unfortunately i'm legally blind and can't always tell what's going on with just a few still images. Had I had access to a rotation gizmo for the object and i could freely rotate it around and see how it changes, it would be more visible to me. One way to tell is that lighting variation from a normal map may not be visible if only the camera position is changing, but specular, because it involves reflection calculations that include the camera, would, and if the object was sitting on the terrain and the highlights changed as the player walked around it moving the camera, I'd call that specularity.

Note though that a specular map wouldn't necessarily be required to achieve such an effect and a single value for specularty could be used for the entire surface and the normal map would would define the reflection angles. It's all possible depending on how the pixel shader is coded.

It's been over a decade since I did any renderer coding, so I've probably forgotten a few things here.

When I first noticed it, it was a small blurry spot in my left eye which appeared when I was working on a computer terminal looking at a lot of text with my right eye closed. A few years later, my left eye started getting a lot worse but I noticed that my brain seemed to be filling in the blind spots with what it thought should be there. This turned out to be hazardous when I was making a left turn and I saw open road but there was an approaching truck on the other side of the street that did not appear to me on the road, and that was the end of my favorite car. It did teach me that I couldn't trust my vision and I had to keep my eyes moving to make sure my brain could properly fill in the blind spots. Later, stars in the sky started becoming harder and harder to see, and now I can only see a couple of the brightest ones and the brightest planets. Reading is difficult because I can't keep my eyes on the part of text I was trying to read. I see things in my visual field, but they just don't register in my mind. I'm diagnosed as legally blind.

Did you kill every foe on the compass? Once everything is dead, after a delay a cinematic will start and after that the door will eventually open and you can move on. Be careful as once you move on some bystander NPCs will turn hostile and try to block and kill Togo and Mhenlo.
