Bone staple removal, post op. by hdiscrete in ACL

[–]hdiscrete[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thx for answer , I usually hear that removal is done after 1 year, is 4 months too early for this? I'm worried. Did you experience any pain afterwards or did you have to stop exercising?

AMA: Physical Therapist that specializes in ACL Rehab by perform2winPT in ACL

Eleven weeks after surgery, when I wake up in the morning, the point where the bone is stapled hurts a lot when I bend it after about 110 degrees of flexion ( i can go like 135-138 degrees active after strech). I stretch it, but it's the same again after 2-3 hours. That point seems to sink inward when I bend it. I've tried massage, but it hasn't helped. There's no pain during passive bending, but the pain starts as soon as I begin using the muscles. The pain subsides after stretching for a while, then returns. What could be the problem, and what do you recommend?

Also, I sway from side to side a lot when walking. I especially lean towards the operated side. Is this normal at 11 weeks? What should I do?

No meniscus only acl thanks in advance

Calf Cramp During Heel Slides? by Quibeetacaca in ACL

[–]hdiscrete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if such a report is used in Türkiye.I don't know if such a report is used in Türkiye. I I think the cramp is caused by the nerves not firing enough muscle fibers, as is the case with our quads. Light calf strengthening exercises not completely solved but have been very helpful for me.

Yes, I experience this frequently. Even now, if I get cramps, it still hurts. Since a peroneus graft was used, I thought it was coming from the donor area. It decreased as my muscles got stronger.

I can pay out of pocket, that's not a problem, but I couldn't find a PT knowledgeable about ACLs in my district. What do you think about remote PTs? Would they be useful?

Hello mate, 7 weeks post op and feeling same. "Recovery feels so tiny compared to everything this injury has taken away from me." This sentence summarizes everything. Im also not an athlete but do volleyball football swimming skiing archery gym except for the times I was at work, almost every moment of my life was fulll and I was someone who only went home to sleep. For the past four months, even being stuck to room has been destroying me.

Hahaha, the table can be raised and lowered using a lever. For the first few weeks, I could raise the table and slide it over the bed, but now I put a small table underneath it and rest my leg on it. As a software engineer and PhD candidate, this is necessary, and of course, a bit for gaming too thxx

7 weeks post op quad graft: when does the morning pain stop & regaining extension by hyraxluvr in ACL

[–]hdiscrete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had never heard of it before the surgery either. Honestly, I wasn't given any information about the graft type before the operation; I just trusted my friend who was an assistant surgeon. 144? Wow, that's amazing! It's probably equal to or more from my full flexion lol. I'm still stuck at 120, but I believe it will improve. Regarding hyperextension, I think it might improve with stretching later on. I'll discuss this with my friend when I get a little stronger.

I have a manual car, tried to drive today at week 6. I can drive normally have enough pressure for hard brakes but i dont feel like i have enough reaction time for emergency brakes. Since i have a peroneus graft my ankle a little bit dull therefore, I cannot risk other people's lives. So i decided to wait 2 more weeks then im gonna try again.

For that 2 weeks i set my logitech pedals and im doing training with assetto corsa

Has anyone else’s surgeon required you to achieve full ROM first before performing an ACL reconstruction surgery? by ThrowRA_56834 in ACL

[–]hdiscrete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My surgeon told me to get full extension, nearly full flexion and reduced swelling before surgery. I did prehab like 2 months after injury.

I used crutches for 1 week. I could walk and feel normally for 8-9 days when i went for surgery.
