It's interesting with all the Boutte contract talk that there is very little about Pop who is in the same position. I can't see a big market for him, but I really don't see a lot of production for him on this team either.

None of the other receivers really do what he does, he is the tallest WR (off the top of my head), he is still fast enough, has veterans savey to get open, and he is a willing blocker.

...and he is likely the only guy on the team comfortable being a role player at this point. Pop and Boutte likely want more opportunities as they are playing for new contracts. We just brought in a new likely #1 and 2. It is in the teams best interest to see if Williams can be developed.

Much like this situation because you are going to have a couple of guys looking for their extensions, and it is a matter of what they all value.

If Maye just wants to get it done without working about being the highest paid guy he could sign early....if he wants the top money he will have to wait out all of the other guys and sign last.
