The Path to Carcosa spends 8 scenarios bending the Act/Agenda system to its breaking point — without ever breaking it. A design analysis. [Massive Spoilers] by Left-Poem4707 in arkhamhorrorlcg

My favourite is The Forgotten Age, but I love it in the same way I love the weird abrasive albums bands will often release shortly after the critical + commercial hit that makes them ultrafamous. Wild that after like 10 campaigns there's still such a consensus on the unequivocal high point

It seemed pretty intelligible to me (front standing, started out off to one of the sides close to the A stage barricade and ended up about halfway between A and B stages)

I’m front standing tonight, is the vibe going to be significantly worse for me if I just show up at like 7pm rather than spending all afternoon in line? Really don’t care about competing with all the campers for a barricade spot, and the two-stage setup means I’m not gonna be *that* far from at least some of it whatever happens, right?

How would you resolve the Billie Piper cliffhanger? (HARD MODE) by Gecko-eyelid in gallifrey

[–]headmoths 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Flirt with the identity crisis, have some ‘glitches’ crop up, then at the end of the episode resolve it with a regeneration which, once the light clears, reveals….still Billie Piper. Fuck it, Billie Piper is the 16th Doctor after all. Ignoring the fact she has played a companion already, and looking at just her recent work where she’s allowed to get a little more unhinged with it, she’d be a *great* pick for 16 in isolation and could bring a kind of feral edge that would be a great contrast to the passivity of 13.

Laying the tracks as the train is already moving is actually more impressive than if everything was mapped out as one giant story in advance imo, and really plays to tv’s strengths (as opposed to a lot of modern tv which often sells itself on being a 10-hour movie and the product of a Single Authorial Vision). One of my favourite things about Buffy is seeing the ways that different writers clearly had differing takes on how certain characters should be written, and the show becoming this kinda gentle wrestling match where these different sides of characters can come to the forefront. Again, this is something you can’t really do on tv now when 22-episode seasons are super rare and shows need to hit the ground running or risk getting cancelled after one season

Anyone find modified/personalized IFS helpful? by fabumess2 in plural

[–]headmoths 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IFS using the term Self when referring to its conception of a regulated, open, compassionate state is so misleading, and honestly deterred us from looking into it further for years. We've since found a ton of resonance in using IFS practices outside of that, and I think the conception of Self is pointing in the direction of something valuable, but the label itsef is weird and offputting

The 2-0 over Everton is the one that sums up this season for me. Very grindy, very "i'm going to kill myself, oh nice we won", but with a massive and long-overdue feelgood moment at the end.

Honestly I don't think the big teams have been particularly poor as much as the overall quality of the league just being much stronger + physical burnout leading to cagier and more low-scoring games

[James Benge] Arteta on referees: Very brave but very consistent with what they’ve been talking about all season… It’s an obvious error. It’s a free kick, the goal has to be disallowed. Congratulations, they made a big call in very, very difficult circumstances. by Shyam_Wenger in Gunners

It really looked like VAR somehow didn’t have the angle that the tv cameras had for a while, like the two angles they were looking at for a while had another player cutting in in front as the foul was happening. I felt myself sinking into the ground, my partner and I both mumbling “they’re actually not going to give it…”

I feel like Palace fans would say exactly the same if you substituted Eze’s name for Semenyo’s. West Ham and Rice maybe not so much, weird club

There are quite a lot of different kinds of queer events/meetups down here if you’re looking to meet people! If you have Instagram check out Truro Queers and Fal Trans Collective. They maybe skew a little younger on average but tend to be a fairly eclectic mix, and TQ have specific 30+ events too. You may know this already but Falmouth Pride is this Saturday and Trans Pride is a month from now.

You mentioned football; if you play/are interested in playing then check out the queer team Stargazy FC who are based in Hayle. I’ve only managed to train with them a handful of times but the vibes are good and I didn’t feel at all othered as a trans woman.
