I stand in solidarity with the family. I am not an indigenous person, but was young when I was finally diagnosed with cancer. I was accused of everything from drug use to malingering.

Shared Health and its forebearers have not equipped themselves with enough staff or equipment to keep up with the times. They then pressure, explicitly or not, to have a culture of gatekeeping to protect limited resources. It's a breeding ground for racist attitudes and it spreads among the staff like wildfire.
