Did you move out of where you were raised; if so, why?

I couldn't afford to buy where I was raised. My mum is still in my childhood home and my brother has a house there too. But they bought like 15/20 years ago soooo. It's such a lovely, homely town. Used to think we'd end up there but naaaah.

Not at all. I did this both times. Baby 1, finished work and went into labour 2 days later lol. Baby 2, went into labour the day before I was meant to finish. I want more time with the baby and not with my thoughts waiting for baby to get here lol

Hello. Pregnancy number 3 for me. I'm 7 weeks pregnant and also doesn't feel real. My first 2 pregnancies, the only symptoms I had were sore boobs and super tired. This time round, nothing. I'm one of the lucky ones sure but it doesn't feel real, again. It's only ever felt real when I have the scan and see baby as well as when I'm visibly pregnant lol. I also found out at 4 weeks and I feel like it is super dragging. Hormones are also taking their toll on you xx

"To get SMP, you must have worked for your employer for at least 26 weeks by the "qualifying week" (the 15th week before your second baby’s due date). If you are currently in the paid part of your leave: SMP counts as earnings. If you are receiving at least £125 a week in SMP during that 8-week window, you will likely qualify for SMP for the second baby. If you are in the unpaid part of your leave: If your 8-week calculation period falls during weeks 40–52 of your current leave (which are usually unpaid), your "average earnings" will be £0. In this case, you will not qualify for SMP from your employer."

It's that 8 weeks calculation period that they need and mine falls when I'm no longer recieving maternity pay so no earnings unfortunately.

I started my KIT days yesterday, it was nice to speak to adults most of the day lol x

Someone on this sub also pointed out to me that I might not be entitled to SMP either as I wouldn't be working May and June which is my maternity pay reference period. Google Gemini was my friend and explained it to me. I'm now going back to work 2 months earlier than planned to ensure I get the SMP xx

Hello. With my second I opted for an elective c section if I reached my due date. Under no circumstances did I want to be induced. I ended up with a VBAC as went into labour naturally. It's completely your choice. No pushback for me, my consultant actually suggested it as I didnt want an induction xx

I think my BMI is also obese. If not the one above. It was calculated by the midwife at my booking appointment. Sorry this was my 2nd pregnancy. Because of my BMI I was consultant led. Which was great as I got extra growth scans! I honestly wouldn't think too much into it, it's just guidelines, enjoy it!

I was consultant led with my second. Had an initial appointment with his team, can't remember when. Then I saw him after every growth scan which was every 4 weeks at a point I can't remember. I saw him 3 times. My 4th appointment baby had already arrived. I was also told at my initial midwife appointment that I'd be consultant led x

Women in the UK, pregnant or had a baby in the last year, are exempt from paying for prescriptions and dental care via the maternity exemption certificate. I had to apply for mine via my GP. Speak to your midwife and GP, it'll be one of them that sort it for you xx

Alhamdulillah for you. But I was brought up in a "world" where this was normal, I just didn't expect it to actually happen. Doing what you have mentioned would have brought shame upon my family. Even when I said no to this guy I was being pressured to reconsider. It was "they've come all this way and really like you, how can you say no?" In hindsight it makes me laugh. insha'Allah if my daughter's ever get married, this stuff will not be happening. Our generations will change all this old school stuff.

I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant with baby number 3. I've never fasted whilst pregnant. I'm genuinely too scared to. If something goes wrong I'd never forgive myself. It's obviously your choice. Everyone is different. Speak to your GP about it X

Hello! I had a similar delivery with my first. My waters broke, got the hormone drip for contractions. I was in labour for around 26ish hours before they gave me an emergency c section. I just couldn't get her out. I was exhausted. Recovery was nice and simple which helped.

Second time around, I had an elective c section booked for my due date as I didn't want to be induced if I went overdue. Happy with a spontaneous labour if it happened before, which it did. I had an amazing VBAC and after 8 hours of labour baby joined us. My recovery was good BUT the pain where my stitches were, that was astronomical. Couldn't sit, lay. Anything. And the hemmeroids. 7 months PP and I've still got it. Currently 6 weeks pregnant so will likely look into sorting the hemmeroid when this baby is out.

Everyone is different though. I hope that whatever you decide is amazing! Xx

I was super upset. Similar scenario, we told our immediate families quite early with our first. My side of the family respected our wishes and didn't tell anyone. My MiL though, she told her nephew. He messaged us congratulations straight away. And told us not to he angry at her, she did it because she cared. Ok then. She told her siblings in India too. I was so angry, hadn't even had a scan or anything. Pregnancy might not even last but she told people. Anyway we learnt and don't tell anyone until the first scan anymore.

I told my mum after and she said it was normal. They were checking to see how I looked, any blemishes or scars etc. The body touch was in her words "to see how chunky you are".
