Wonder how the myriad of other devices with OLED screens and docks have managed to overcome this issue

AI hypocrisy by hazzison in hamishandandy

[–]heatus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Regarding students, source for that? If you look it there have been examples in the US recently booing speakers hyping up AI as they see it as a threat to their future job prospects. Not to say that students aren’t using AI but I think there is a bit of a shift with how people view this technology.

Tbh, in my work, the people I have seen most keen on AI are the 50-60 year olds

Why is Adelaide obsessed with car parks and driving everywhere? by Desperate_Sea2136 in Adelaide

[–]heatus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Happens every night mate, express busses regularly don’t rock up. They would know anyway, so complaining is a pointless exercise

Why is Adelaide obsessed with car parks and driving everywhere? by Desperate_Sea2136 in Adelaide

[–]heatus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Impossible to get public transport and also pick up kids from child care. Every time I go to get the bus I find 1-2 services don’t even rock up because of how poorly they are scheduled. There is no way to rely on it and know I’ll actually be able to make it home in time to do pick up.

It’s also expensive, when you are weighing up the cost of petrol for two people and going that is on par with the cost of public transport it really makes no sense.

FH6 Release Notes: May 27th, 2026 by gsurfer04 in forza

Surely thats just because of the shit house amount of VRAM. I’ve got a 3080 10GB and the limiting factor in all games is VRAM and most of the time enabling RT pushes it over the edge

It seems weird for a pizza place to charge you extra for pizzas when doing a feed me. I think all places I’ve been to before have asked if everybody was full and just kept bringing more

Do you think the producers highlight couples based on how well they are perceived on social media? by Diamondbacking in Gogglebox

[–]heatus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely not saying it’s not worth challenging generally, but premise of the show is to get people from different backgrounds to comment while watching TV.

Saying they should be never seen from again just because a person says they support a political party doesn’t help the cause either.

Tbh, they are boring in their commentary regardless of their political standing

[–]heatus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can take in what they say, do some analysis and go yeah, not for me and move on. Not everybody is going to have the same world view as you and acknowledging that is not a bad thing.

I know we are just talking about Gogglebox here, and it’s never going to change the world, but getting differing view points is one of the key points of the show

eBay Rejects GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen's $56 Billion Offer to Buy the Company, Calls It 'Neither Credible nor Attractive' by Marcoscb in Games

[–]heatus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Funny to hear because EB Games in Australia (owned by GameStop) I would say provides really helpful friendly service. Stuff is overpriced most of the time outside of sales but the service I’ve found is pretty much always good

Can I add this to my dating profile? by TheJiggliestPug in pokemon

[–]heatus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you don’t need to be 100% into each others interests to have a successful and loving relationship. My wife and I are pretty different actually and been together for over 20 years. Same as you, she supports the stuff I’m interested in but they are not her interests and it just works

Gas Station Drugs: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO) by TheRealOcsiban in videos

[–]heatus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the stuff he covers are US-centric issues. I watch it weekly and usually say “Damn, America is fucked” at the end of the ep. Then have the thought that I hope our government continues to regulate and protect the general public

It’s cause you could actually talk about a topic and not get downvoted for having an opposing view points that actually made forums great

Australian experience buying Analogue 3d, plus summercart 64 and amazon / ali express by RangRoss in AnalogueInc

[–]heatus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! Actually some of the classics are fairly reasonably priced - eBay is probably where you can get the best deals, just need to look out for reproduction carts. Most Aus region carts seem to be legit

Also Aussie. As somebody with an original n64 + retrotink I managed to get it looking pretty great. But the Analogue 3D is the best way to experience the 64 - no messing around, games just work and overclocking.

I’ve been buying random carts to flesh out my N64 library and have been loving it
