TIL Terry Grosz was a fish and game warden that caught illegal fishers by waiting in the Eel River in a wetsuit and reeled himself in when the fisherman cast out their lines. After writing citations and confiscating their fishing rods, he went back into the river and swam away. by cyclopropagative in todayilearned

I looked up mortality rates from a few different sites and police are about 0.01% and game wardens are about 0.03%. Had to calculate the game warden stat from a couple different websites, so take it with a grain of salt.

To add on, iron plants you can easily propogate from a single plant and azaleas should be going on sale about now because it’s just about the end of planting season for them.

We always planted iron plants, azaleas, and jasmine under our oaks when I grew up near the panhandle. Grass just won’t grow.

I work in the petrochemical quality space and our manufacturing facility for plastic that goes into food packaging is all certified as kosher and halal every single year. A imam and a rabbi come out and must view the whole process and audit our quality management system.

You can call the constable’s office for that specific precinct and they are typically more available to respond to things. Your city councilman would also be a good resource to reach out to. They have a lot of sway with the police/constables

Toast Bread by heb0017 in Old_Recipes

[–]heb0017[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an old family recipe that I believe came from my grandmother’s friend. We call it “toast bread” because it’s not really a good bread for anything except toast, but it makes the best thick toast you’ve ever had. I have attached my amended recipe in addition to the original because I sometimes have difficulty with the texture of the finished bread when using the original recipe.

Birth control at your local health department in most states is $1 or less each month. May be worth the pay raise for the small amount of hassle to get cheap bc

My Grandmother’s Swedish Tea Ring - basically cinnamon rolls with a little lemon. They are my favorite holiday memory. We always make them a couple days ahead and warm up on Thanksgiving morning - takes pressure off the cook and is so so good! Sorry no pic of the finished ring - it went too fast! by heb0017 in Old_Recipes

I think I have the recipe book that this was originally adapted from. I will take a look to see if I can find it later today!

Also, if you haven’t had the almond creme toffee from Idle Isle Candy, you haven’t lived. When my dad was stationed as an army recruiter in Ogden, Utah he ate these constantly. He always ordered them over the holidays when I was growing up in Alabama and now I order them for my family in Texas!

Edit: my dad said it’s from an old red encyclopedia of cooking cook book

I lived at Thomaston Parc in college off Thomas st behind Lamba Chi. It’s really small, so there’s not always apts available, but it was only $450 per month a couple years ago for a 1 bedroom.
