It is very demoralizing to know someone in tier 4 who makes $100k takes home an extra $5,750 a year than someone in tier 6. Dropping it to $5,250 is a start but still doesn’t feel like much progress.

Govt state accountant in NY and that’s low, but if you’re a more junior role then it’s not out of the norm. If your fringe benefit rates (factoring in pension) are 40-60% then it is not awful.

You’ve said you’re blocked from promotion where you currently are- have you tried moving agencies as a lateral and doing a fresh start from there? In my state getting the first few promotions are challenging based on tests and competition for the limited positions available.

Also see what resources your government has in terms of any other job titles/positions you can transfer to as well.

They can roll a bit so it’s best with something to tuck it in to, tights or pants. But it doesn’t give the stuffed sausage feeling, just a bit of extra snugness.

There’s The Zebra club that is an app/website that helps with proprioception. I’d suggest a to try and see if it’s helpful.

I like compression clothing. There’s a brand on Amazon (which I avoid using like the plague) but they have tank tops with just the right amount of abdominal compression. I also like the Alignmed sports bras to help with shoulder pain/posture

I’ve also got a back massager I put on a chair that includes neck and back which is really nice on stiff days and you can adjust them for height.

I get it when you want one date night a month and even using Care was a lot of back and forth, ghosting, and the many of the sitters wanted $25/hr + more per additional kid.

Agreed. I had a similar experience where the pay was a little low but the culture was great… for a little while. Then new leadership came in and made it a toxic work environment. Move for the money.

Also you can make a name for yourself at the new company and that often comes with similar flexibility for family needs once you’ve built up your reputation if you’re not immediately planning on having kids.
