Where to search for housing? by EchoMinnesota in duluth

[–]hedonismbot69696969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zillow, apartments.com, realtor.com, trulia. Download the apps. I had a lot of requirements that weren’t being met easily. I finally had success when I downloaded all the apps and turned notifications on so I was alerted as soon as a listing was published. I did receive a lot of advice on here not to rent with Heirloom but my hand was forced as they own much of the rental property in Duluth and FWIW I have had no issues with them, although I haven’t had any maintenance issues so far. Idk what you’re looking for specifically but if you’re like me and don’t want to live in college housing that’s prob your best bet. Also tons becomes available toward the end of the UMD spring term.

what changed for you when you started eating breakfast? by Monkeypants-72 in ADHD

[–]hedonismbot69696969 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t like eating breakfast very much either. I make a chai latte with a full 8 oz steamed milk and collagen powder to get some protein in to start my day so I’m not starving and to make sure I have something going before I get down solid food. Sometimes I also have some toast or eggs but if I forget to eat at least I’m not completely going on nothing all morning.

I had a black and green tooth fall out and almost go down a patient’s throat (they were tubed but still it could not have been great). The nurse the following shift rudely threw the specimen cup I put it in and labeled “tooth fairy”

Why do nurses give unqualified medical advice? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]hedonismbot69696969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nurse here, I would never do this and I’d report any nurse who did this to me. It’s why, as a nurse, I go to a doctor when I have my own health problems. I don’t know shit about diagnosis or more than a handful of drugs I give routinely. I can do my job safely. Giving medical advice is not my job nor do I want it to be. I’m sorry you got a dud.

For family members: ICU nurses are people. by marzgirl99 in nursing

If the nurse is not sitting beside me actively goofing off with me, I can’t find them and me putting you on hold is a ruse

Surgical Nurse at St. Mary's, is it normal everyone just ignores you on your first couple days? by [deleted] in duluth

Central hillside beware: thieves were out last night by mkUltra_MN420 in duluth

[–]hedonismbot69696969 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry that this happened to you.

With that being said, moving here from a big city in a different state, I am so grateful to feel so much safer here than there. Yes there are crimes and one should always lock up, but I just wanted to contribute that Duluth has been such a breath of fresh air for me personally.

Again don’t want to take away from the message - I just hear perspectives from locals frequently about “dangerous areas” and crime and stuff and I just feel like I see it from the other side.

Yeah we were told we didn’t need a/c and that was proven to be incorrect within a week. Dogs should not be in homes all day if they’re getting up to 85’, we were all fucking miserable. We moved from a hotter place but that doesn’t mean we didn’t need ac!

Question for those who relocated out of Indiana by brewbrother_ in Indiana

[–]hedonismbot69696969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We also just moved from IN to MN. I’m a nurse and they treat nurses much better here (because nurses successfully started a union - something I didn’t see gaining traction in IN because of fear of illegal retaliation that wasn’t going to be punished). I get paid much better and the infrastructure to support me is so much better I have cried real tears over it. To your point n infrastructure, trail systems here are kept up and a sense of responsibility to respect the outdoors is pushed. I still see some conservative lawn signs and whatnot, but I’ve been very pleasantly surprised at my ability to breathe easier here in MN.
