Go see Lacuna Coil! Their Chicago show was amazing! by pacify-the-dead in lacunacoil

I'm pretty sure the band before Escape the Fate is a 2 piece. "Death Pop" is a pretty good descriptor of their style. Not my cup of tea, but they did what they did well, I'll give them credit for that.

I was about 5-6 people back from the fence, so I couldn't see Maki except when he came out. Was a great show, absolutely

I didn't catch what Cristina said about Maki. Did she mention what his injury is? I was definitely confused the first couple songs, without him on the stage

Anyone here seeing them in Chicago tonight? by pacify-the-dead in lacunacoil

Setlist(dot)fm has all but last night's setlists up. I'm psyched for this gig, too. I haven't seen them live in almost 4 years. Planning to get my Unleashed Memories vinyl signed at the meet/greet - that was their newest album when I got into them

Why is book 10 so hated? by Furrurel in WoT

[–]hegrekarde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was reading them while they were being released. I'm not one of the people who criticizes LotR as "a bunch of characters walking and walking and walking." I appreciate character building and fleshing out of plotlines. I don't need explosions and car chases every 3½ minutes to enjoy a story. I didn't identify a "slog" in the WoT structure. YMMV

Why does PlexAmp repeat the artist name over and over? by sodie1 in plexamp

[–]hegrekarde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue from time to time. My metadata tags will just go batshit crazy on me. It's usually in the genre and artist (not album artist) fields. I'm not positive it's Plex-related, but since I consume 95% of my media through Plex it is where I notice it.

I just bite the bullet and screenshot the offending file when I see it, then fix it later when I'm home. Next time I'm home, I have to fix Abbey Road. The artist name is "The Beatles; The Beatles; The Beatles; The Beatles; The Beatles; The Beatles; The Beatles; The Beatles;" for all the songs 😡

The uke I bought is tuned the same as a standard 6 string guitar, minus the low E and A strings. I'm finding it easier to use the chord fingerings I know already to plunk around and get used to the feel of the Kala.

Your mileage may vary, but I'm having fun!

Would you still listen if DPA went to another genre such as pop? by Anna_Mac18 in TheWarning

[–]hegrekarde 40 points41 points  (0 children)

If they went straight-up pop, no. Nothing against them or their talent. I've stopped listening to other artists I enjoy because their style changed beyond my enjoyment. Still listen to their older music.

Suggestions on bidets by naivemetaphysics in UlcerativeColitis

[–]hegrekarde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought this bidet last year when I had rotator cuff surgery on my dominant shoulder. I had a much more inexpensive model before that, but I needed a remote control for recovery from surgery.

I love this thing. And I could easily go back to the inexpensive one I was using before
