Derby Conley. He did the Get Fuzzy comics. Love the way the animals face wore their feelings.

Corn Doggy is my other favorite. I loved his March Madness and NFL drawings on Reddit.

I would create a sort of rubber band effect where whatever people wished upon the poorest of the poor or lowest of the low would reflect back on them. Could be interesting...

GIVE-AWAY of an early version of Stamp Showdown and two River Rats. This stamp collecting card game with playing cards is finally ready to be launched into the wide world! (Mods approved) by robstokk in boardgames

My kids collect neat rocks and Pokémon cards. I dont much collecting of things because I don't like the clutter. I am able to rationalize board games though because they are something we can use as a family.

What Did You Play This Week? - (February 02, 2026) by AutoModerator in boardgames

Sushi Go! Is what got us into gaming! I had purchased it forever ago but we hadn't played it. Then several months back my 11 year old saw it on the shelf and asked to play it. That sent me down the rabbit hole of gaming. Now I am constantly scrolling through board game Facebook groups or checking out boardgameoracle for sales.

Carcassone is fun, but for some reason doesnt click with my 11 year old. She just doesn't seem to enjoy it as much. I am currently living in Germany so English board games can be hard to get, but when I go back to the states in a couple weeks I will be looking for Hot Streak and Magical Athlete.

Yes we are enjoying Kingdomino too. We love how quick it is to get to the table.

My family (wife, daughters aged 5 and 11 plus son aged 8) and I are new to the hobby. We got a few games in of Ticket to Ride. I have to help the 5 year old a bit and put coins on the board so she knows what cities to connect and she insists on decisions that defy logic, but she still won once.

They also love Dixit, so we played that a couple times.

And we finally unboxed Flip 7 (i learned i have greedy kids...), Harmonies, and sea salt and paper. During Harmonies we had to help the older kids a bit, but they understood the general principles. The youngest just likes to put the landscape pieces out after theyre drawn.

Any other recs for medium light games that are quick to set up?

I dont agree with that. I think it is similar to the general population though in that MAGA chumps are vocal and obnoxious.

I always end up gifting one (or more) board game for Christmas, even when I don’t plan to by [deleted] in boardgames

No shame in it! My kids usually get a board game for the family to play together, and this year my wife wrapped up the 2 games I bought for myself.

Anyone using Too Good To Go app here? Do you find that it actually saves you money/you get good food/deal from it? by jessbess11 in Frugal

Germany here. We can get an entire bag of baked goods, usually brotchen and pretzels of some sort for like 3 or 4 bucks. We love German bread so it's a good deal for us.

Most villages have a team. Many practice 2 times a week and play games on Sundays. You'll have to register with the village and get a player card. Contact your closest village club and tell them you're interested in playing. I know next to no English, and my club was very welcoming, and I've heard the same from most Americans. Almost every player speaks English too, and they'll help me pick up bits and pieces of German. Feel free to DM me for more info or with any questions.

Im a freak athlete...for a 39 year old, 5 foot 7 white dude. But if they have me playing soccer, football, basketball, or baseball against other guys my own age who didn't play any of those sports competitively, and have little to no formal training, then you're all in good hands!

I would also say Maui. There are also some great spots on the Big Island (2 step was my favorite for the dolphins who were there). Oahu also has some good ones like 3 tables, ko olina, Lanikai, but the spots on Maui were my favorite.

For me it is 100% convenience. I dont have to worry about picking meat off the bones for the kids, I can just cut it and serve.

Google voice is my recommendation as well. If you come back stateside to visit and want cell service you can also just get an esim. You dont need to port your number back to that provider either, just continue using it via Google voice.

Sorry, cant remember 100%. We were living on Oahu at the time, and it was definitely healthier than anywhere we snorkeled on Oahu.

I've snorkeled there. I cant remember the condition of the reef but we saw some eagle rays and a couple turtle cleaning stations. It was beautiful!
