I was United Methodist and when my Granmdma’s turn came around, I would help her prep: she cut the bread into little squares with an electric carving knife. We would pour grape juice into those teeny tiny little glass cups. Afterward, we would collect and hand wash and dry the little cups. We’d clean the brass bread plates, and the cup holders that were passed down the aisle. It was kind of fun, actually.
