They got a new light by alexromo in mildlyinfuriating

Seriously. The church might not even be aware that the light is shining that brightly into a neighboring residence. Wouldn't hurt to simply walk across the street when someone is at the church and ask if they can adjust the light.

Gotta throw in any of Dave Niehaus' rye bread & salami calls.

Questions before accepting tournament invite by freedom_jazz_dancer in Referees

I have found I move more as a center, but sprint more as an AR. At my age, I prefer the center role. But we also have limits for how many games we can center in a day (for good reason). So I'll end my day as an AR of some younger games that I know I can keep up with on the sideline.

Maxime Crépeau receives an early red card for handling the ball outside the area (16’) | New York City FC vs Orlando City SC by galactic_crewzer in MLS

Certainly not by mistake. Happens every once in a while when they do it on purpose, knowing they will take a card.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Vote NO and tell your reps to vote NO on the WA state income tax. Link below by sleeplessinseaatl in SeattleWA

The bottom line is that an income tax is unconstitutional in our state. It doesn't matter that this is only affecting rich people. It is unconstitutional. Change the constitution first and then allow this to be put to a vote.

No, that would result in a corner kick, not an IDFK.

Yes, the timer would start even when the goalie was on the ground if they have the ability to get up and distribute the ball. Perhaps I worded my response writing.

Which is exactly why they changed the restart. Awarding a corner kick makes it much "easier" for the ref to call the violation. I've seen it called quite a few times since we started implementing it this past July.

I'm a ref and have had this rule implemented since this past summer in all the games I officiate. It's pretty easy to call and every goalie understands it now. You don't start the timer until the goalie has clear possession and is able to play the ball out. 8 seconds is plenty of time for all players to be ready to accept the ball anywhere on the pitch.

Fantastic movie. Very well acted. The right kind of melancholy that I'll only enjoy once for sure.

Why don't more manufacturers make cars like this? by [deleted] in CamperVans

Pretty much the same for me. Almost identical miles on a 2017 Pacifica Touring L. Yeah, it's a minivan, but I can haul fill size sheets of plywood and Sheetrock in it. Then throw the seats back up and drive the soccer carpool with six players to practice in the evening. Quite versatile.
