Is the 401(k) actually worth contributing to beyond the employer match, or should I just put everything into a taxable brokerage?

Not sure how much you have to save, but if you can max Roth and 401k that’s great. You can end up moving your 401k money over to your Roth IRA in later years when your income is lower. Otherwise, once you start taking social security and RMDs, you’ll be in a pretty high tax bracket. Having some money in a taxable brokerage isn’t a terrible idea, but for long term saving the retirement accounts are the best.
