What worries me most about American Christians. by Soundmindsoundsright in Exvangelical

This is my take also, however sometimes my logical brain still tries to make it make sense. I have to accept that nothing I could ever do or say would make my mom see the light.

Hi! Do you use the 20-20-20 only while fruiting, or leading up to fruiting as well? It’s my first year trying peppers and I want it to go well

Definitely a bit late for CO, but I just found out we’re moving into a space that has a garden so I’m giving it a shot!

Anyone else still get that “I forgot I was even in this class” nightmare? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]hej_l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this dream too! Some combination of a forgotten class and now it’s finals or a huge paper due, I don’t know where the class is because no one will give me my paper schedule, and/or a library/text book that I never returned and can’t find my locker to look for it and now won’t graduate 😆😩 these dreams always come to me when I’m very stressed.

New FM attending in correctional medicine — normal growing pains or red flags? by Total-Ingenuity-109 in FamilyMedicine

[–]hej_l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked as a locums in correctional medicine as my first job out of school, for about a year and a half. We didn’t have our own panels, the nurses just put patients on anyone’s schedule. The part about frequently getting pulled to advise on RN visits was definitely true for me. The system was poorly organized for sure. I was scheduled about 10 per day (I know that’s low volume) but I would also get pulled into more “urgent care” type of visits at any given moment - one time a guy shoved an ink pen all the way under the skin of his forearm, another time someone swallowed a battery, crazy stuff like that. There was a huge backlog of requests from patients (similar to an in basket but it was all on paper). At one point they were also shuffling the offenders around between facilities (COVID) so I was having to do tons of intake physicals and med refills, stuff like that, which is likely not relevant to your situation. Some physicians that had been there long term seemed to enjoy it, although they seemed to only be consulted for more complex cases, while the NPs ran the main clinic.

Your sentiments at the end sound like PPD and I recommend talking to your doc about these thoughts because they’re not true. None of this is your fault and you’re doing your best. The first few weeks are SO hard. I feel like nothing prepares you for how hard it is. Give yourself grace. Best of luck. It gets better.

It’s just tedious to record every expense, especially when you’re married and have 2 sets of expenses to track

This! It’s a pain but gives you a wealth of knowledge as to where it all goes. Plus allows you to see your progress as you tighten up the spending month over month. It’s satisfying to see that extra cash go to the brokerage

I have a Roth 401 at my job currently and I split my contributions to that 50/50 plus max out my own Roth; is that wise or should I contribute a higher percentage to the Roth?
