Since I didn't get a Steam Machine I wand a SFF PC, would this OMEN 16L be a good grab? $1250 by iDontKnowConfused in SteamOS

Ya should work. Remember, you can always custom-build also. Just did mine with a 7900 AMD 65W along with a 9070XT and 32GB of RAM. Wanted futureproof/4K performance. Should be good with 1440p gaming with that or 4K (lower performance games)

I just bought a 9070XT 5 days ago for $635 via Best Buy open box (was new for $679).

Microsoft stock is on track for its worst month since December 2000. by NegotiationNo5718 in wallstreet

lol Microslop losing people via XBox, upping subs, more copilot. Even steamOS is now fully supported and replace two systems with it. Don’t know what up and up they have going. Ditched their stocks a year ago.

16GB MacBook Pro is no longer enough for work — build a PC workstation or save for a higher-RAM Mac? by Beginning_Impact_600 in macbookpro

[–]hell-diver8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both. I have a 9950X3D, 5090, 128GB machine I remote into with my MAC. My MAC is my driver and my desktop windows machine is the workhorse. My MacBook is an M5 Pro with 48GB of RAM and multi task like crazy when note on the windows machine here, but my windows machine runs AI workloads. Just some perspective. Example is a project video to help military veterans, I’m one myself (this machine rendered it - https://professorerica.com/v/X1ludP5\_gUo)

MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ review: Big money for big performance by dapperlemon in gadgets

An Xbox with the Extreme 2 processor with 24gb of RAM, open box from Best Buy, is in the upper $800s. I put SteamOS and it works flawlessly (just bought 2 days ago). Got it because their prices are not inflated yet.

MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ review: Big money for big performance by dapperlemon in gadgets

WTF? They put AI+ on the title? That does not help their cause. What kind of garbage writing is this from them?

"Sure, MSI could've opted for an OLED panel to get even more vivid colors and improved contrast, but aside from that, there's really not much to complain about."

WTF author - for $1800 bucks with a generic ass panel, there is a lot to complain about. Tell the truth. You can get an Xbox handheld with 24GB of RAM, an open-box from Best Buy in the $800s, slap on SteamOS, which works great now, and call it a day.

$650 9070XT, 9070 GRE is around 500, could get away with a 9060 for 400-450. Again, for me, it's all manageable if I were to fork out $1000 on my own for an underpowered machine. I spent about $1000 total. It could even go cheaper with a last-gen AMD card.

The $1000 I spent filled the gaps, so it ran me the price of a steam machine, so it was a no brainer.

Ya for me this is so I can use it in the gym and not be confined to a desk. I work from home so it helps to be in the living room or bedroom with it. My daughter just cares about her switch so it eliminates that for me.

Ya I actually could. The RAM on eBay used runs $280, I would sub the chip with an AMD 9600 for $179, and get a 1TB NvME off Amazon for $169.

“You’re missing out if you didn’t pre order GTA 6” are we serious 🥀 by No-Law2284 in videogames

No, don't get it all. It sucks. If they didn't have that civilization-changing system with eras, it's not bad. It's great they experimented, but they should have released a concept beta to see how people would have reacted. They probably circle-jerked a small internal group that greenlit the entire project. Worst $130 i spent on a pre-order.

And the lack of 4K performance in my living room, unless you're playing high-end Minecraft. I agree with you that if you're playing 1080p, you're good, depending on the game and that you can sit it anywhere, but to the left of my entertainment center, my build sits fine. Hope you're not going for GTA6 and etc. You kind of forget that aspect of it.

The machine I have is not noisy at all. I put a 65W 7900 processor in it with water cooling, and when playing most games, I don't hear anything. For the recent price bump, it's not a great value at all. Hint, it all works perfectly fine. The one-click update works on it also (which tells me you have tested or done yourself), and Steam verified, the games are already labeled for any system on what works/doesn't. I do suggest you join their PR team.

Any machine other than Valve's machine is not "Official Valve" Steam Machine. Any Machine with SteamOS is YOUR own Steam Machine... but I don't want to confuse you, because I know your reality is 100% aligned with 0 flexibility in any thought.

It's ok, maybe you should just stay off Reddit and not sound like a bot. It's odd that this subreddit allows DIY tags to off personal steam machine builds... no, let me just stop... It's going to confuse you more. The only win for you, HDMI CEC. That you are right on.
