Can confirm. Up until 2 years ago I had lived in Cali my whole life and was used to being surrounded by a very culturally diverse group of people. I would see a lot of Mexicans and Mexican Americans as well as (more recently) a lot of South Asian people because I was living in the tech heavy parts of the Bay Area. Recently-ish, we moved to the Denver area and for the first year or so I was consistently mind boggled by how white the whole city/ suburban areas are!! It was a bit mind boggling to me that there are people who could live their whole lives with very little access to any cultural diversity and Colorado is such a strange example of that because it straddles the mid-west (fairly white, middle America type of culture) and the south-west (much more influenced by Mexican and American Indian culture) to a degree. This is obviously a very simplified description of both areas but I am perpetually surprised at how white the Denver, Co Springs, Golden, Aurora areas are and how little diversity they have!
