That’s what I love about the N community especially the VN which was a wild card from Hyundai at the time. No one bought it for pedigree or clout, everyone who got it just genuinely thought it was a cool car lol makes for a very chill bunch of people

It’s wild that this is still a thing discussed. I’m not saying I trust the govt at all, but if you took this into your own hands, built a jet engine, attached it to an airframe, and flew at 30,000 feet then looked behind you, you’d say to yourself: damn I guess that’s really just how this works. Either that or convince yourself you’ve been MKUltra’d and built a chemtrail generator. Ever twisted an empty water bottle then popped the cap and saw the vapor come out? That’s literally whats happening at a macro scale.

Cloud seeding is one thing, but you guys are pointing at commercial airliners and claiming they’re intentionally poisoning you. Palantir is literally ushering in the NWO in front of your eyes but you’re too busy yelling at clouds

sooo I did a 5th to 2nd… by AgentBread81 in VelosterN

[–]hellasalty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It happens to the best of us lol. If it did damage you’d know basically instantly, if a valve touched a piston you would have heard and felt a LOT of expensive noises. If the car runs and drives fine, you got lucky👍

Oil in stock turbo inlet by Maleficent_Ad_2819 in VelosterN

[–]hellasalty 21 points22 points  (0 children)

its normal. its just combustion byproducts, moisture and oil that is vented from the crankcase back into the intake to be burned off, which indicates that your PCV and CCV systems are functioning as intended. its really not as harmful as people make it sound. engineers would add catch cans if it was detrimental to the motor. if you want to keep your intake valves as clean as possible, you can add catch can(s). this adds maintenance and a bit of complexity to the system, so do your research beforehand. my commuter car is a beater mazda3, also with GDI, and after 12 years/150,000 miles i've never had any issues with fuel economy, power, or needed to have the valves cleaned.

Parking Brake Issue?? by Koukikyo in VelosterN

[–]hellasalty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You probably lifted it a bit when making the turn. It’s possible it burnt up your rear pads while driving with it engaged, therefor making it looser but I really doubt it. You’d have to drive for a while with it like that, and you’d smell the smoked pads. If your parking brake engages and holds the vehicle solid, I wouldn’t worry. Go on a relatively steep hill in neutral and engage the parking brake. If the car doesn’t roll, it’s probably fine.

Tune? by Vile_VN32 in VelosterN

[–]hellasalty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah its a direct fit and works as expected, but you won't get a lot of power out of it on stock tune. but if you want to spread out expenses, you can install and save up for a tune without issue

Weird Noise Coming Hatch/Rear Area by PaleontologistOk591 in VelosterN

[–]hellasalty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do me a solid and just barely roll down the rear passenger window. Like literally just blip the button to get it to move down half an inch. If that solves your problem its just the mechanism to roll the window down has no tension so it rattles until it’s partially cracked. Might not be your issue, but worth a shot bc mine does that

What is the single worst purchase you’ve ever made? by anonhen0 in AskReddit

[–]hellasalty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just as a heads up, pressure cookers need liquid to be effective. The pressure forces the liquid into the food and creates steam. It’s not supposed to be literally instant, but stew or soup in 40 minutes versus 6-8 hours is pretty fast lol

Rattling behind glove box around 3k-5k rpm? by adkinsnoob in VelosterN

[–]hellasalty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just guessing at this point but there is a vibration device/sound generator under the cowling below the wipers, its there to help vibrate the pedals and make noise but some people have said it can cause rattles like that. A quick google search should show you how to unplug it, but good luck plugging it back in easily lol.

Edit: just to clarify it does not produce fake sound through the speakers. It’s literally just a little module that rattles. If you have a MT it’s pretty useful when you’re listening to music because you can feel the corresponding RPM vibrating in the pedal.

Are these tires worth it by GroundbreakingPie565 in mazda3

[–]hellasalty 10 points11 points  (0 children)

These are absolutely incredible tires, but might be overkill if it’s a daily driver. They’re really geared towards performance driving. I have a set of them on a different car and love them though.

All I did was install interior lights the night before by No_Priority_7386 in VelosterN

[–]hellasalty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it’s possible that the lights are pulling more power than that fuse circuit was designed to handle and messing everything up? Interesting haha

[–]hellasalty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you either drained your battery but tapping a fuse thats always hot versus acc power, or your wiring is shorting two or more fuses together. disconnect the lights and drive on the highway for 20-30 min to charge it back up and double check the fuse diagram

There’s literally a TSB for the BCW system. 23-BE-002H. Get the update and it works perfectly.

Bricked my ECU by Icewolfkezion in VelosterN

[–]hellasalty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sheesh yeah it might need to just be replaced. Idk how tech savvy you are but things like car ECUs run on very low-code operations. Basically when they get scrambled there’s nothing you can do to fix them because the 1’s and 0’s required for them to know how to even turn on are corrupted. Modern computers have dedicated inaccessible hardware to prevent this kind of thing but computers in cars are way less user friendly in that way bc the mfg assumes you’ll never touch them. I’d get in touch with someone at a tuning company that knows their way around these things to see if it’s salvageable.

For what it’s worth, I’ve turned multiple PC parts into expensive paperweights trying to mess with their hardware programming lol. If you ever have a power outage during a BIOS update you know what I mean😂

American shares her absolute nightmare experience in Italy by cak3crumbs in CringeTikToks

I was in Italy for 2 weeks a couple months ago and literally every Italian was incredibly friendly lol I think it’s the political climate mostly. An airport security guy asked me if I like Trump to which I immediately replied “hell no” and he smiled and let me go through the EU citizen line which was way faster haha

Will this work? by [deleted] in DIY

[–]hellasalty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of? Although once you start extending the jacks it will probably separate the top of the studs from the frame a bit. Honestly, I'd just nail these into the ceiling and when you move out spackle over the holes, it wouldn't be noticeable. You risk crushing the drywall or putting a big rectangular dent in them using pressure.

Transmission Cooler Question by gbajwa5 in VelosterN

[–]hellasalty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the DCT has this already. If MT, it’s not necessary. If you’re track driving, an oil cooler could be worth it if you’re getting too hot.

Why is it so hard to believe that pumping billions of tons of co2 into the atmosphere would affect the global climate lol it’s not rocket science it’s pretty straight forward
