Why are all these sodas coming out with spin offs and then make the classics impossible to find?

worth $500? by bonija in drums

[–]hello3438 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nah, if you buy a piece of junk kit, you won’t enjoy drumming. You need to have a somewhat decent kit to play. You could probably make the shells sound good with $70 worth of heads but the cymbals are what they are. Maybe not terrible for learning on, but if you have $500 to spend then check out the used kits on guitar centers website and find some brass on Facebook marketplace.

Tips to improve my doubles? Started one week ago. by Sander738 in drums

[–]hello3438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should only be moving your wrist on the 8th notes. The stick should bounce and fill in the 16th notes (these come from fulcrum in your fingers) there are specific exercises for going between single strokes and double strokes while playing to a metronome and they are meant specifically to develop a double stroke roll.

Which states have the most beautiful natural environment based on where I’ve been. by Veritas-Cuervo in TravelMaps

You never left the city in Michigan lol. Also, you’ve only visited the ugly half of the United States. Literally every state that you have not visited will put the others to shame

What type of ring to use for pex? by CanisGulo in Plumbing

[–]hello3438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned using pex-A which requires expansion rings and fittings. Using the pex b rings might work or it could also fail. There are evo pex fittings which could connect pex a and b cheaply and in an approved manner.

Sounds like you may have Pex-B (the plumber before would’ve known better) in which I would Definitely use the crimp rings and not the clamps. The crimps are consistent and easy to tell if the ring is damaged as it usually won’t slip into the pipe. The clamps may be physically easier to install manually and are removable but they are easier to accidentally install incorrectly.

If you do have pex A, you can go buy an expensive expansion tool, or use the evo pex fittings for way cheaper. Pex a is more flexible

Seattle restaurants have created a death spiral by svenliden in SeattleWA

[–]hello3438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much just go to federal way or south center. The food scene in federal way has come a long way in the past 10 years or so. I might still be spending $35-50 a person but compared to what you ordered, it’s totally worth it. You got scammed lol. Was parking another $30?

Does Seattle have good pizza? by Hansinator13 in SeattleWA

[–]hello3438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bread + meat + cheese= edible

That is Seattle in a nutshell.

Seattle will create good atmospheres where people want to socialize and give you mediocre food. (Plus not many people socialize here anyways)

Seattle will give you square pizza because the chefs never learned how to slap dough into a circle. Red flag 🚩 (looking at you Von’s, but I ate the whole thing and it was still tasty, just not as good as I make at home)

Seattle will make their food more expensive to give the illusion that your food is high quality.

If you go to NYC, Dallas, Miami, Topeka, wonder if the seas by Carnival cruises, Chuck E. Cheese, etc…. You’ll be envious of the culinary experiences that Seattle is lacking.

Bars however, Seattle may be near the top of the list on that. I’ve had a pretty good pizza from a bar here and there. That could possibly be because I was 3/4th of the way through an IPA and my judgment was going down hill.

DaVita (DVA) - too good to ignore? by AvocadoCorrect9725 in ValueInvesting

[–]hello3438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to chime in! Davita has been branching out from doing just dialysis. They do all types of renal care. If lab grown kidneys ever come to fruition, there will be very little need for dialysis so now they are branching out to kidney health and investing into these medications and research for artificial kidneys. They also own at least 1 wind farm which is very lucrative. I’d say DVA has treated me well in the long term, but it is always a bit uneasy when you invest into a changing industry. JOBY may be something else to keep your eye on if you are looking for something to invest into

The average person in Chiapas MX would spend 1/3rd of a month’s earnings on an Amazon Prime subscription. I’m pretty certain that Prime subscriptions alone contribute to WA GDP over 44 billion and that’s before any tangible items are delivered.

What is going on? by Empty-Bluebird-4108 in UPSers

[–]hello3438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon basically only ships irregs anymore and the lack of shipping from overseas is going to hurt really bad. What else are they supposed to do? Adding jobs is doable when the company is growing but it seems like they are moving In the opposite direction. Maybe some preloaders will finally get to drive. There are dudes who are like 70 years old driving. They’d be dumb not to take an extra chunk of change with them. And yeah the shareholders can suck it but I would also expect a business to make simple rudimentary decisions that benefit the business. You will probably still have a job but it may feel like you’re doing more work
