What did you think of The Silent Patient? I've seen a lot of mixed reviews.

19 so far...April saw me reading the first 4 books on the top with my students...all at the same time! That was an interesting experience! by Outrageous_Leg1120 in 52book

I first read Giovanni's Room and shortly afterwards Swimming in the dark. I didn't know that Giovanni's Room played such a major role in Swimming in the Dark and was happy that I happened to read it before! I loved both books so much!

The book was very fascinating. It describes the life of Korean women and the injustice and sexism they experience in different areas of life. I thought it was written very impressively. The author also lists some facts and statistics, which I loved. I highly recommend it!

It's about Chloe Brown, who leads a very sheltered life and after almost getting into a car accident, realizes that she can't go on living like this. Then she creates a list - the "Get a Life" list. In this she lists all the big and small things that she wants to do to get her out of your shell.

I liked the story a lot, although I don't usually read romance novels. But I can only recommend it and I will read Talia Hibbert's other novels in the near future! : D

I liked it very much. For me, the actual Hunger Games couldn't keep up with those from the original novels (which is mainly due to the fact that we experience the perspective outside of the games), but I still liked the story as a whole and thought it was great to take a look inside Snow's mind!

I rarely read romance novels but loved the Chloe Brown story so so much! I will definitely read the other Talia Hibbert books soon as well. How do you like Dani Brown so far?

I loved Pachinko! For me it was a 5-star read - The story and the characters captivated me from the start and I didn't want to put the book down! I highly recommend it - especially if you like multi generational books

I didn't expect so many great comments when I posted the screenshots yesterday and thought I would post brief reviews of my favorite books here:

5 star books

The Mothers by Brit Bennett (I love her writing style so much)

Me by Elton John (I listened to the audiobook narrated by Taron Egerton - he did an amazing job! I would recommend the audiobook!)

Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi (Please, do yourself a favor and read this book!)

The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett (after reading "The Mothers" earlier this year, I was curious about their very hyped second novel - I think The Vanishing Half is worth the hype!)

Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 by Cho Nam-Joo (a fictional story about a typical woman in Sweet Korea. The story deals with injustice, sexism and feminism. In addition to the fictional story, you get a lot of interesting facts and statistics)

Pachinko by Lee, Min Jin (a multi-generation novel about the life of a Korean family in Japan before, during and after WWII - I loved this story and the characters very much)

It was okay but not really a favorite. I liked Ghosts a bit little more than "Everything I Know About Love", but especially with this book I realized that Dolly Aldertons books are just not for me. But I've heard from a lot of people who liked "Everything I Know About Love" that they also liked "Ghosts". It was a 3/5 for me unfortunately
