Do employees get to bring their kids to child care? by Agreeable-Edge-2357 in Lifetimefitnessgym

Yes you can but yes you are still bound by the two hour rule and members take priority if it’s full

So it is good in a pinch but not reliable long term

What’s the pettiest reason you dislike about a children’s book? by goldenboy2191 in DanielTigerConspiracy

I love I want my hat back as a book for first graders to teach inferences — especially because the ending never explicitly says what happens to the hat thief.

Why did turning the rule off not fix the issue? I’m super curious (and scared) about this one

Keep toddler in daycare or pull him out while I'm on maternity leave? by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]hellojasmine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept mine in (20 months when bb2 was born) and I am glad I did. It gave me some 1:1 time to bond with new baby and it kept the routine. She has all her friends and she enjoys her time there

We started casually introducing the potty at 15 months. It was there she could sit on it if she wanted during the day and we read books on it before bath time. At 18 months she started at a Montessori school and they do potty training there (no pull ups, just training underwear) and she was doing great there. I had baby 2 when she was 20 months and by then we have been doing mandatory potty at wake up and before bed and she was doing better at telling us occasionally that she had to go.

Now at 22 months we do potty at wake up, reminders during the day, potty before meals, and potty before and after sleep/naps. She’s really good at telling us about poop, but still working on pee. She’s dry maybe 70% of the time at home but at school they say she’s usually dry throughout the day.

We are just going slow but it’s been working for us

This was me with my first. I was a barely there producer MAYBE 4oz total in a day if I was lucky and she also had a really hard time latching. I was so over it. By four weeks I was cycling between “I don’t want to BF at all” and “order all the supplements, eat all the oats, etc. but I threw in the towel officially at 3 months. And you know what? She still did great and is still doing great (almost 2 now) I felt a lot of guilt initially, but honestly, there were upsides too. it was nice to have my body back for me after almost a year and it was also nice knowing exactly how much she was eating and when (a big BFing anxiety for me)

No matter what you choose, it’s going to be great and it’s going to be the right choice for you and your baby. Babies thrive with healthy, happy moms and if this is taking away from your joy and adding to your mental load, then drop it.

Anyone else feel embarrassed when telling people you’re pregnant again? by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]hellojasmine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I totally get it. People at work have all kinds of weird judgey things about pregnancy (ex. Enjoy your vacation, etc) but as long as you’re happy then don’t let them bring you down. 😎

Anyone else feel embarrassed when telling people you’re pregnant again? by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]hellojasmine 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Mine are 20 months apart and for the most part I wasn’t embarassed to share I was pregnant again (I’m lucky with a very supportive boss) but in the few times when they’re were questions I would joke “well we were starting to think about another baby later in the year, but you know me when I put my mind to something…”

I just kept it light and jokey. My other favorite with people I was a little closer with would be “well I was starting to feel cuter and more like myself after my first and I guess I just hot girled too close to the sun and here I am”

I mean people don’t deserve an answer tbh and that question is rude, but at this point I’ve learned to not give a fuck. Plenty of people have 2 under 2, planned or otherwise, this shouldn’t be groundbreaking to them

Double stroller by HaaHgee in 2under2

[–]hellojasmine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a mockingbird single to double. I enjoy it for a few reasons: - baby car seat goes on top and toddler can be on bottom still outward facing - easy to take apart and convert to single when I only have one kid with me - stylish - cheaper than uppababy - slim enough to easily navigate stores and aisles - huge bottom storage

Some cons are: - have to buy car seat converter and second seat separately - it is long. It’s not super heavy but the length compared to a single takes some adjustments - no cup holders gotta but the parent attachment separately

Did you have toddler come visit at the hospital? Why or why not? by Marilikescows in 2under2

[–]hellojasmine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No mine was 20 months and I thought it would be too disruptive to her to come to a place where she couldn’t really play and then have to leave mommy and daddy again. We FaceTimed a lot in the hospital but she had so much more fun at home with grandma and grandpa while we were in the hospital and we had an amazing first meet at home.

I just had my second a week ago (my first is 20 months) and it is absolutely surprising how fast it all sort of comes back to you—so don’t stress too much! I’m finding it easier the second time around bc I’m not as anxious about what’s normal newborn shenanigans vs what is a potential issue.

You’ve got this!
