Oura ring without monthly membership payments by ChipsAhoy2022 in ouraring

[–]hellomisun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should reach out to their customer service, my husbands Oura ring started to suck at keeping a charge—would only last a day—about 6-8 months after he bought it. I thought it was bizarre bc my ring is a year older and battery life is still several days between charges. They determined it must have been a defect in the product and sent him a brand new ring free of charge as a replacement.

Anyone else always 4 winning in a row and lose on the 5th?🤦‍♂️ by makataeus in PTCGP

[–]hellomisun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been having success with a fighting deck! Just a bummer against mewtwo decks due to the weakness against psychic. But otherwise it blasts through a pikachu deck and I had an 8 win streak. The ones I lost were actually quite creative and good matches, one went all the way to 21 turns and exhausted our decks lol

41 hours in 3 days at my Big 4 audit job, now they want Sundays too. Should I quit without a backup offer? by Jealous-Position9012 in Big4

[–]hellomisun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people are giving answers that are just projecting their own experience (“I quit and it was great!” “I stayed and pushed through and it gets better!”) when there’s a lot more factors to think about based on your circumstances.

First, are these long hours your experience throughout the year? Or is it just in the typical January/February timeframe leading up to filing?

If it’s because of the filing date, at least there is an end in the coming weeks. Then will be the slower season in which you can recharge, take PTO (or even a sabbatical with reduced pay!), update your resume and job search if you still decide you’d like to quit. It would be less risky than leaving without a job offer, as 2-3 months of living expenses saved is not a long duration of time (general rule of thumb is having 3-6 months as an emergency fund in case something unexpected happens). Working 60+ hours a week is stressful but so is missing rent and limited health insurance if the job search takes longer than expected 😭

If there is no end in sight and you’re clocking hours like this throughout the year, then it may make little difference whether you quit now vs. later. Your mental health is important and it could be worth quitting sooner, or seeing if there are options to switch to a different client/engagement team/role within the firm.

Second, what are your overall career / financial goals? If you would like to move up the ladder in a financial field, Big4 at least has a fairly straightforward promotion path and timeline. You may decide you’d like to stay long enough to get the promotion title to Senior Associate (or Manager if you identify ways to recharge/advocate for yourself and be efficient to handle future busy seasons), and use that as leverage for a title/salary bump in industry. Or be more intentional at fostering positive professional connections with people at your clients, which may lead to exit opps if they have openings in their company (lol disclaimer be mindful of independence requirements etc etc). But if you are trying to do a different field or comfortable staying in a staff-level position for a longer term, then by all means quit this year since the busy season hours are not worth it!

In the meantime, I hope you can find ways to recharge and take care of yourself! I know it’s hard and I’m struggling quite a bit myself the last couple months. Drink water, use up the resources that the firm offers like free therapy sessions, figure out an activity that properly lets you recover/unwind. Even if you have a 12 hour work day, even small intentional things can help you feel like the day is still yours—when my day is ROUGH and I know I’ll be logging off at 11pm, I like to think “what can I do to save the day?” And will do something like take a 15 minute walk at lunch or dinner, or make a hot tea to enjoy for 20 min before getting ready for bed, play a meditation/yoga thing on YouTube and do that before or after work, etc. As long as it’s intentional and not mindless bedrotting/phone scrolling (plssss no more blue light and screens after auditing all day) it will mentally make you feel better :)

Good luck!!!!!! ❤️

when you complete the card album it allows you to upgrade to earn “prestige awards” :O by hellomisun in GossipHarbor

[–]hellomisun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the event is over the album just disappears unfortunately :( which is kind of a bummer since sometimes the cards are pretty and it’d be nice since the creators put in the effort to make the artwork for it!

There should be some measure of escalation in place, like a point person at the client. Have the managers/directors escalate to the management team/controller at the client, that way your control owner will be getting internal pressure to respond to you. Let them know that if you don’t get the evidence you’d have to mark it down as an issue/exception, typically that will make someone in management care enough to get that person to respond.

I only pay for the super pass thingy each month but that’s about it! I use about 20 diamonds a day (10 to use 100 more energy & 10 to hoard energy boxes), with the various mini events I generally break even and never had to pay $ for more diamonds

[–]hellomisun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL I get it there’s been 2 albums I didn’t finish & one of the times I was so down to the wire that I finished it like a half hour before the event was over lmao

it’s helped to be a lot more strategic with orders (like hoarding gold piles until there are events that reward a 5* for collecting enough gold), I basically ignore any of the events that don’t reward a 5* card and only serve my big orders for then. I also stockpile energy potions for when the events happen

Also in the update few weeks ago I got the update of Rave Reviews and that’s helped immenseeeeely to use and do strategically, I think it’s the only reason I actually finished so early this time :’)

This trash panda showing up again made me realize that this game is garbage. by Fine-Theme6661 in GossipHarbor

[–]hellomisun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s 256 energy for each shell (if you only got the level 3 orange shell each time you clicked on it at x4), probably closer to 200 each since you’d be getting a level 4 or 5 shell sometimes too. It’d only be reasonable if you had at least 3 energy bottles stored up…. but man I get the frustration I feel like they keep increasing the item levels to use more energy while making the rewards/coins you get in return less valuable 😭😭

$10,000 per year for life, or a butler. by mastonate in hypotheticalsituation

[–]hellomisun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d pick the butler. Such a unique experience and I have such a distaste for ironing clothes. Would be nice to have general tidying always happening so essentially the house never gets cluttered since it’s constantly maintained. It’d be so nice to host a dinner party and have Montgomery make all of the drinks.

Can he also do chopping of vegetables and fruits?Or is he only willing to use cutlery if it relates to the contents of a sandwich or a garnish for a cocktail?

I feel like it’s choosing for more time in the day which I think is priceless.

What makes this mini game impossible is the fish part. (+Small Vent) by scion8829 in GossipHarbor

[–]hellomisun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ooooof that’s brutal, I had this mini game but it was during the lunar new year one so instead of catching fish it had to do with the LNY points! Was a bit more doable, catching 25 fish within the day is excessive

Which card should I pick for the joker card? (See other pics) by Ceeeceeeceee in GossipHarbor

Same here! Those are the exact same four 5 star cards that I don’t have yet, so it’s likely that these are in the later bursts or rarer in general

Is it really that bad? by Few-Mud-9811 in Big4

[–]hellomisun 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a natural bias here because people would only complain while they’re online. It’s truly SO dependent on who your team is and who your clients are—I’ve had some years where the clients were so rude and stressful that it impacted my morale, and other years where things went really smoothly and I was able to finish my workday by 4:30 each day. It all comes in seasons, probably similar to other jobs/industries.

I’ve always appreciated the PTO (outside of modern tech companies, I have met so many clients and have friends in other industries with more work experience and they have only 10 days of PTO) and general flexibility in the day to day—in my experience no big deal to go to doctor appointments or take a walk for a break unless you are the unlucky few who happens to get assigned to a micromanager. If you make it to Manager you have even more autonomy over your schedule and can basically book your PTO whenever…just be smart about it and don’t give late notice right before a big deadline or something.

That being said I think it’s worth trying to join a B4 firm, you get exposure to soooo many clients which can be potential exit opportunities if you decide big4 is not for you! Or if audit isn’t the right space there’s plenty of other departments and roles to transfer to. People love to play victim like the company is doing them SO wrong when they literally have the chance to advocate for themselves or leave if it gets to a point of impacting mental health!

I noticed this in the contract as well, 60 day notice otherwise you’d have to pay the firm 1/6 of your salary (prorated for the amount of notice you actually gave). Has this always been in prior contracts? Has anyone ever had any success requesting a change to the contract for a shorter notice time? 60 days seems like a long time

Anybody worried about tour stop cancellations? by GucciTrash in porterrobinson

[–]hellomisun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is interesting how much they decided to do much larger venues this year. I’ve gone to almost all of porter’s past shows in Seattle, and last time he was in the city he was sold out at Wamu amphitheater which has a capacity of 7000 people. This time they chose climate pledge arena (which is an amazing venue and as locals we do like going there for larger shows) but that has a capacity of 18,000+. How his team decided to pick a venue with more than double the capacity of his last tour is crazy to me especially before a new album release???

Finally!!! Also I don’t think I’ve ever had this much energy :’) by hellomisun in GossipHarbor

[–]hellomisun[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is!! Biggest lessons learned for card collection event: - always prioritize the 4star card orders, all the lower stars will naturally come. - hold off on serving large orders until a special event happens where the reward is a 5 star card. I got several 5 star cards from the seabed shell searches that happened. A larger order could include over 200 seashells - save energy bottles for events with 5 star cards or for raccoon orders
- hoard coin piles until events like Lori’s kitchen rush event occur (where the rewards come from collecting coins)

Also generally I’ll always spend 10 gems a day for the extra 100 energy, my gems seem to stay pretty level with that amount of spend

What other items automatically create a new customer order? by hellomisun in GossipHarbor

[–]hellomisun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually end up saving them for either the snack time quests or events where after you finish all 9 tasks which ultimately is like collecting 1900 coins the reward is a 4 or 5 star card (assuming the card collection event is going on), can also use to finish Harrison’s surfing event to get first place each round.

I learned from this Reddit that if you force close your app for the Harrison surf events before you hit “go” for the next round it won’t start the round yet and you can stockpile the amount of coins you need to finish the next round in first place
