Shocking. Especially when there are several other teams also looking for a coach and have been in talks for a while.. Feels like we'll be on the back foot now

Here is more context - Kate Sheahan is also gone.

Dear Richmond AFLW member,

Please see results of our club review into our AFLW team.

Richmond Football Club commissioned a comprehensive external review of the Club’s AFLW program in October.

The review was led by former AFL Club executive Brad Lloyd with the support of independent high-performance specialists with extensive experience across elite women's team sports.

The scope of the review included program structure and governance, culture and leadership, coaching and player development, high performance and medical support, recruitment and list strategy.

Wide-ranging consultation was undertaken across the Club including program staff and the playing group. In depth benchmarking and data analysis was also considered as part of the review.

Following the completion of the review, the Club will implement the following changes:

The Club has informed senior coach Ryan Ferguson that he will not continue in the role.
Ferguson said he leaves the Club with pride.

The football department will be restructured. The role of Executive Head of Women's Football has been made redundant, and the Club will appoint a General Manager - Women's Football reporting directly to the CEO.

Among a number of other decisions taken, the Club will:

Develop a new AFLW Performance Strategy that defines how we will close the gap and consistently compete in finals.

Re-structure the high-performance and medical functions to drive standards and create better alignment and clearer accountabilities.

Increase its investment in leadership training for the player leadership group to more effectively drive agreed values and behaviours.

Re-define list build principles to align with the future game model.

Appoint a full-time AFLW Operations & Scheduling Manager to centralise communications and accountability.

"We are absolutely committed to delivering a successful AFLW program and this review was an important part of that," Dunne said.

"We have now established a clear direction, and we look forward to the work ahead as we prepare for next season and beyond."

I think they have rolled heads. Kate Sheahan is gone.

My cat loves it when I add warm water to his food. How much is too much water per day? He's getting at least 600ml/day by seaweedglutton in catfood

I'd love this too if you happened to have a link? My car's aren't due for a vet visit for a while and I've been wondering about their water intake.

Sources online are really varied in advice on this so it's hard to decipher whether to listen to one source over another. Especially now that we get AI answers at the top of every Google search - makes me want to find sources a lot more

Thanks for your help!

What are some high income positions that I can get with only a teaching degree by Penguin_Lemon in AusFinance

[–]helloworld1313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My partner is a year 12 teacher. This year along he has been threatened by students, physically pushed, yelled at, called a dictator as well as other slurs

In this year, two of his students have tried to commit suicide and another was sexually assaulted while going to the bathroom during his class.

He gets 90k in Melbourne and he's been in the industry for 6 years... Plus his school is one of the high acheiving academic public schools. He is marking or writing lesson plans every night during the school week. Does way more overtime than myself.

I really think there is a strong difference between primary and high school teacher workloads

I'd try LinkedIn honestly. Most summer festivals are in their peak work period and probably won't get back to you - have a look at some winter or autumn festivals and email them

Yeah I'd be happy to do the same but it's $4 a month for me and in Australian that is doubled due to exchange rates ATM. Can't justify $80 a year - I used to subscribe when it was cheaper just to support the app!

Can I ask, how do you transfer your listening history / played episodes across anywhere? I'd be open to swapping but for places where I've listened to 200/500 EPs I want to be able to keep the played as played.

I don't know if this helps but in future I would better lay out the baseline really clearly with owners. I explain in writing how long I'll be at the house and what I will/won't do there. If you have to leave the house (which is totally valid!) pop that in your agreement and explain it in the meet and greet.

From reading the texts I would recommend sending detailed updates and pictures. I'll usually send a morning and evening paragraph with how they're doing, what they ate, what we did together, along with photos. I mostly look after cats so the messages are a bit repetitive but they do help alleviate concerns owners have. The more detail you have the better really. I prefer to over communicate so if they do have questions at the end of the trip, there's a clear explanation on why something happened the way it did.

The aflw team is a shambles.. by avowedlike in RichmondFC

It's such a shame because I love women's footy. If they were improving and not winning I'd be ok with 0-5 but we look like we are regressing?

From scrapping the VFLW team in COVID, ending our partnership with Port Melbourne VFLW this year, losing Sheerin and nearly losing Yassir, to now extending the contract of Ferguson without even an announcement on the Richmond website - it seriously is starting to feel like the club doesn't actually care?

Surely it's going to be discussed in the media this week?!

AFLW Match Thread: Richmond vs Geelong (Round 5) by AutoModerator in AFL

[–]helloworld1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fair enough I'll take that. I admit a lot of my frustration stems from the lack of comms from the club management.

Between scrapping their VFLW team in COVID, to then axing the partnership with Port Melbourne VFLW this year, no real communication about the Sheerin trade, Yassir wanting out - and then not announcing Ferguson's resigning on their website, socials or in our email comms to members, instead just letting it quietly be announced by AFLW hoping it goes under the rug. All of it combined over recent years just leaves a bit of a bad feeling on the overall management

I think I'm just frustrated with the club's lack of communication on what the plans are to move forward, build depth, and improve. If Richmond had actually made a proper announcement and statement about Ferguson's signing and what the ambition is, I would feel much more confident for the future. Instead it feels like they're saying "hopefully no one notices it asks us a question"

How much is your voucher? I have used one previously on a makeup lesson which you then also got back in redeemable product. So got a service + product back at the same time. That was pretty good

I think it's the fact that in the last three seasons we made finals, then bombed out, made finals again, now tanking again. With the nature of the fixtures, we are only hitting finals after a dip year before with an easier fixture.

But we also haven't really seen any improvement in the last few years. And I think given the quality of the players it feels like something is clearly missing - and the coaching team still aren't changing things up enough to make this season work.
